TREE OF TANAKH FOR NOAHIDES

  • by

בס”ד

The Tanakh is the whole of the Hebrew Bible. It is an acronym for Torah (5 Books of Moses), Nevi’im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writing). The Torah is likened to a Tree of Life for all and in all its ways there is pleasantness. The words of the Hebrew Bible are like the ark that protected Noah carrying a way of life for us all to live by through the Seven Laws of Noah given to Moses at Mount Sinai. There are seven verses to learn that help to remind us all of this.

Seven verses from the Tanakh (By Rabbi Schochet of the AskNoah project)

  1. Genesis 1:1. In the beginning of G-d’s creation of the heavens and the earth.
  2. Genesis 5:1. This is the narrative of the generations of man; on the day that G-d created man, in the likeness of God He created him.
  3. Psalms 34:15. Shun evil and do good, seek peace, and pursue it. (“Turn away from bad and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”, Divine Code Prayer Book)
  4. Psalms 145:9. The L-rd is good to all, and His mercies are on all His works.
  5. Proverbs 15:3. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, viewing the evil and the good.
  6. Job 28:28. And He said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and shunning evil is understanding. (“Behold, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and turning away from bad is understanding”., Divine Code Prayer Book)
  7. Isaiah 48:17. So said the L-rd, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the L-rd your G-d, Who teaches you for your profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
