Moses was the leader of the people of Israel.

One day, two men, Eldad and Medad, received a special gift from G-d.

They began sharing G-d’s messages with the people.

Joshua saw this and became worried.

“Moses, make them stop!” he said.

But Moses was not angry.

He was not jealous.

He was happy.

Moses was glad that more people could do something good.

This teaches us an important lesson.

A good leader helps other people grow.

He does not always want to be the most important person.

He is happy when others do well too.

Think about a candle.

One candle can light many other candles.

The first candle does not lose any of its light.

The same is true for kindness, knowledge, and helping others.

An Example

Imagine that you are very good at drawing.

A friend finds drawing difficult.

You can say:

“I won’t help.”

Or you can say:

“Come, I’ll show you how I do it.”

Then your friend learns something new.

And you lose nothing.

Both of you become happy.

That is Moses’ lesson:

Share your light with others and be happy when they grow.
