Hoshana Rabbah is the seventh day of Sukkot.
Es ist ein ganz besonderer Tag.
On Rosh Hashanah, the judgment for the new year begins.
On Yom Kippur, it is sealed.
But there is still some time.
The final notes are held back until Hoshana Rabbah.
This is a special time of mercy.
It is like a door that is still open.
G-d gives us more time to do Teschuwa.
Teshuvah means turning back to the right way.
A Little Example
Imagine that Sarah takes her brother’s toy.
Her brother is sad.
Sarah knows she did something wrong.
She can say, “I don’t care.”
Or she can stop and say:
“I’m sorry.
I did something wrong.
I will give it back.”
Then she gives the toy back.
Sarah has made teshuvah.
She made a mistake, but she chose to make it right.
That is the message of Hoshana Rabbah.
It is never too late to choose what is right.
The Lessons
- When you make a mistake, fix it.
- Say sorry when you hurt someone.
- Try to do better next time.
- Never think, “It is too late.”
- G-d always gives us a chance to turn back and do good.
Hoshana Rabbah teaches us:
Even at the last moment, the door of mercy is still open.
