Chukkat bedeutet Regel oder Gebot. In der Tora gibt es verschiedene Arten von Regeln, im Wesentlichen drei. Es gibt Regeln, die man auch ohne explizite Erw\u00e4hnung in der Tora verstehen kann. Beispiele hierf\u00fcr sind \u201cDu sollst nicht stehlen\u201d, \u201cDu sollst nicht t\u00f6ten\u201d und \u201cEhre deinen Vater und deine Mutter\u201d. Diese Regeln hei\u00dfen auf Hebr\u00e4isch Mischpatim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dann gibt es Regeln, die Edot genannt werden und wie Zeugnisse historischer Ereignisse wirken. Beispielsweise wird der Auszug aus \u00c4gypten mit dem Pessachfest begangen. W\u00fcrde die Tora dies nicht erw\u00e4hnen, w\u00fcrden wir es vielleicht nicht auf diese Weise feiern. Beide Arten von Regeln sind rational, doch es gibt auch Regeln ohne rationale Erkl\u00e4rung. Diese Regeln werden Chukim genannt. Es sind Gebote, deren Bedeutung und Wirkung nur Gott kennt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Lesung dieser Woche befasst sich mit dem Buch Chukim. Manche m\u00f6gen denken, dass es nicht n\u00f6tig sei, Gottes Gebote zu befolgen, wenn sie rational verst\u00e4ndlich sind, wie etwa das Verbot zu stehlen. Sie m\u00f6gen meinen, ihre Erziehung und ihr gesunder Menschenverstand reichten aus, um sie zu leiten. Doch die Wahrheit ist, dass selbst die rationalen Gebote einen Kern haben, der im Grunde irrational ist. Was meine ich damit? Jedes Gebot besteht aus zwei Teilen: dem verst\u00e4ndlichen und praktischen Teil \u2013 es schreibt eine bestimmte Handlung oder ein bestimmtes Verhalten vor. Der Kern eines jeden Gebots ist jedoch Gottes Wille. Der Sinn jedes Gebots ist im Wesentlichen derselbe, unabh\u00e4ngig von der konkreten Handlung, die es fordert oder verbietet. Es ist Gottes Wille, und die Realit\u00e4t ist, dass wir als begrenzte Menschen, so klug wir auch sein m\u00f6gen, nicht vollst\u00e4ndig verstehen k\u00f6nnen, was Gottes Wille wirklich beinhaltet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die zentrale Erkenntnis ist, dass das Wesen der Tora und die Verbindung zu Gott nicht rational, sondern irrational ist. Dies hat praktische Konsequenzen. Es ist sinnlos, Gebote nach pers\u00f6nlicher Vorliebe auszuw\u00e4hlen: \u201cDieses Gebot gef\u00e4llt mir, also werde ich es befolgen, jenes aber nicht.\u201d Das ist keine echte Verbindung zu Gott, sondern eine Verbindung zur eigenen Interpretation oder einer selbst erfundenen Vorstellung von Gott.
