Bilaam ten\u00eda mal ojo, era arrogante y era lujurioso. Surge la pregunta de si hay alguna alusi\u00f3n en la Tor\u00e1 que inspir\u00f3 a los rabinos a juntar a estos dos personajes de per\u00edodos totalmente diferentes en la narrativa de la Tor\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parece que, tras un an\u00e1lisis m\u00e1s minucioso, hay dos episodios aparentemente totalmente diferentes que involucran a los dos hombres y que presentan numerosas y asombrosas similitudes junto con diferencias sorprendentes que fueron observadas por los Sabios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Primero, ambos hombres emprendieron un viaje con una misi\u00f3n espec\u00edfica: Abraham para realizar la atadura de Isaac, y Bilaam para intentar maldecir al pueblo jud\u00edo. Ambos se levantaron temprano por la ma\u00f1ana y partieron en burros que ellos mismos ensillaron.<sup>1<\/sup>, y ambos estaban acompa\u00f1ados por dos muchachos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En sus respectivos viajes, ambos se enfrentaron a poderosos obst\u00e1culos metaf\u00edsicos que dificultaban su misi\u00f3n. Satan\u00e1s (el poder negativo que intenta inducir al pecado) intent\u00f3 impedir de diversas maneras que Abraham llegara a Har Moriah. De igual manera, un \u00e1ngel bloque\u00f3 el viaje de Bilaam. Ambos hombres superaron estos obst\u00e1culos para continuar su misi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahora que hemos visto las similitudes en numerosos detalles de estos dos episodios, es necesario notar las enormes diferencias entre el comportamiento de ambos hombres y, de hecho, en la naturaleza misma de su misi\u00f3n. En primer lugar, el prop\u00f3sito de Abraham al sacrificar a Isaac era someter totalmente su voluntad a la de Dios para hacer algo que contradec\u00eda todos sus instintos y deseos naturales. El prop\u00f3sito de Bilaam en su viaje era hacer todo lo posible para evitar la voluntad de Dios y as\u00ed poder satisfacer sus propios deseos, y su objetivo final era da\u00f1ar al pueblo de Dios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el viaje de Abraham hacia la desobediencia de Isaac, Satan\u00e1s le env\u00eda numerosos obst\u00e1culos para persuadirlo de usar su propia l\u00f3gica para justificar no seguir la orden de Dios. Sin embargo, Abraham sigue adelante, decidido a seguir lealmente la incre\u00edblemente dif\u00edcil instrucci\u00f3n de Dios. Por otro lado, Bilaam usa constantemente su propia l\u00f3gica para justificar que Dios apoya o al menos tolera sus planes de maldecir a su pueblo. Un ejemplo notable de esto es cuando Dios se le aparece por primera vez a Bilaam despu\u00e9s de que los moavitas le pidieran que maldijera al pueblo jud\u00edo. Dios le dice muy claramente que no vaya con los oficiales moavitas a maldecir a los jud\u00edos porque la naci\u00f3n jud\u00eda est\u00e1 bendecida. Sin embargo, cuando Bilaam informa esto a los oficiales moavitas, a\u00f1ade una inferencia importante. Les dice: &quot;HaShem se ha negado a dejarme ir&quot;.&nbsp;<strong>contigo<\/strong>.\u201d<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;Rashi explica que les estaba insinuando que la raz\u00f3n por la que no pod\u00eda ir con ellos era que los oficiales que fueron enviados para traerlo no ten\u00edan la estatura suficiente para una persona tan importante. Y su mal de ojo fue la ra\u00edz de su profundo odio hacia el pueblo jud\u00edo, que tambi\u00e9n influy\u00f3 en su determinaci\u00f3n de maldecirlo e incluso destruirlo.<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Algunos comentarios sugieren que el rasgo m\u00e1s definitorio de los tres era su arrogancia.<sup>5<\/sup>&nbsp;En cambio, fue la gran humildad de Abraham la que le permiti\u00f3 resistir todas las pruebas que Satan\u00e1s le puso delante. Cada prueba pon\u00eda a prueba su capacidad de seguir con inocencia los caminos de Dios sin usar su gran intelecto y comprensi\u00f3n para intentar encontrar una salida a este incre\u00edble desaf\u00edo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volviendo a nuestra pregunta inicial sobre por qu\u00e9 Jazal decidi\u00f3 contrastar a Bilaam con Abraham en particular, parece que la propia Tor\u00e1 ofreci\u00f3 numerosas pistas que muestran las similitudes en el episodio clave de la vida de ambos hombres y, al mismo tiempo, mostr\u00f3 c\u00f3mo actuaron de forma completamente opuesta.
