En \u00c9xodo 27:20-21<\/a> <\/strong>Leemos acerca del mandato dado a los hijos de Israel de traer aceite de oliva puro para la Menor\u00e1, para que la l\u00e1mpara ardiera continuamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 era tan esencial esta luz? No para Dios mismo, sino como testimonio para Israel y las naciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una luz que no es necesaria para Dios, sino para el mundo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Esta luz no era necesaria para Dios, como leemos en Shabat 22b<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00bfRealmente requiere (Dios) la luz (de la Menor\u00e1)?\u2026 M\u00e1s bien, sirve como testimonio a toda la humanidad de que la Presencia Divina reposa entre Israel.

Pero \u00bfc\u00f3mo puede esta luz ser un testimonio para el mundo, cuando las naciones no pod\u00edan entrar al Templo? La respuesta se encuentra en 1 Reyes 6:4<\/a> que menciona que el Templo ten\u00eda ventanas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4<\/strong> E hizo a la casa ventanas anchas por dentro y estrechas por fuera.<\/td>\u05d3<\/strong>  \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05b7\u05bc\u05e2\u05b7\u05e9\u05c2 \u05dc\u05b7\u05d1\u05b8\u05bc\u05d9\u05b4\u05ea, \u05d7\u05b7\u05dc\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9 \u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05e7\u05bb\u05e4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0\u05b2\u05d8\u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n


Estas ventanas ten\u00edan un dise\u00f1o \u00fanico. Normalmente, las ventanas se construyen para permitir la entrada de luz exterior, siendo la parte exterior m\u00e1s estrecha que la interior. Sin embargo, en el caso del Templo, el dise\u00f1o era al rev\u00e9s: las ventanas eran estrechas por dentro y anchas por fuera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rashi<\/a> (1 Reyes 6:4) explica que este dise\u00f1o ten\u00eda un significado m\u00e1s profundo. El Templo no requer\u00eda luz externa, pues la presencia misma de Dios era su fuente. La Menor\u00e1 irradiaba simb\u00f3licamente esta luz hacia el exterior, sirviendo como se\u00f1al de que la Presencia Divina habitaba entre el pueblo jud\u00edo y como testimonio a las naciones.1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La luz de la Menor\u00e1 y la sabidur\u00eda de la Tor\u00e1<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Esta luz de la Menor\u00e1 deb\u00eda brillar siempre, con especial \u00e9nfasis en la noche, como se afirma en \u00c9xodo 27:21<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La noche se considera a menudo el momento m\u00e1s peligroso del d\u00eda. Como leemos en  Salmos 104:20<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20<\/strong> T\u00fa pones las tinieblas, y es de noche, en ella se arrastran todas las bestias del bosque.<\/td>\u05db<\/strong>  \u05ea\u05b8\u05bc\u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05ea-\u05d7\u05b9\u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05da\u05b0, \u05d5\u05b4\u05d9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9 \u05dc\u05b8\u05d9\u05b0\u05dc\u05b8\u05d4\u2013 \u05d1\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9-\u05ea\u05b4\u05e8\u05b0\u05de\u05b9\u05e9\u05c2, \u05db\u05b8\u05bc\u05dc-\u05d7\u05b7\u05d9\u05b0\u05ea\u05d5\u05b9-\u05d9\u05b8\u05e2\u05b7\u05e8.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

F\u00edsicamente, la noche es cuando somos m\u00e1s vulnerables. Simboliza los momentos de la vida en los que podemos sentirnos alejados de Dios y Su Tor\u00e1. A lo largo de la historia, el pueblo jud\u00edo ha soportado mucho sufrimiento, opresi\u00f3n y exilio; sin embargo, incluso en los momentos m\u00e1s oscuros, siempre ha recurrido a la Tor\u00e1 en busca de gu\u00eda. Como leemos en Bava Batra 25b<\/a>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quien busque sabidur\u00eda debe dirigirse al sur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Menor\u00e1 se encontraba en la parte sur del Templo y representa la Tor\u00e1, como encontramos en Proverbios 6:23: <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

23<\/strong> Porque el mandamiento es l\u00e1mpara, y la ense\u00f1anza es luz, y camino de vida las reprensiones que instruyen.;<\/td>\u05db\u05d2<\/strong>  \u05db\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05e0\u05b5\u05e8 \u05de\u05b4\u05e6\u05b0\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4, \u05d5\u05b0\u05ea\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8; \u05d5\u05b0\u05d3\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b0 \u05d7\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9\u05dd, \u05ea\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05db\u05b0\u05d7\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05de\u05d5\u05bc\u05e1\u05b8\u05e8.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

En Ramban<\/a> Explica que la Menor\u00e1, a trav\u00e9s de la Tor\u00e1, es un s\u00edmbolo de la presencia eterna de Dios. No importa cu\u00e1n oscura sea la noche, la presencia de Dios permanece constante a trav\u00e9s de Su Tor\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los olivos y el camino de vida de la Tor\u00e1<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El rabino Yehoshua ben Levi ense\u00f1a en Menajot 53b<\/a> Israel es como el olivo: as\u00ed como sus hojas nunca caen, el pueblo jud\u00edo siempre perdurar\u00e1. El rabino Yo\u1e25anan a\u00f1ade que las aceitunas solo producen su preciado aceite al ser prensadas; as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n, el pueblo jud\u00edo ha fortalecido su compromiso con Dios y su Tor\u00e1 a trav\u00e9s de las dificultades. Durante la Edad Media, a pesar de la persecuci\u00f3n, el estudio de la Tor\u00e1 floreci\u00f3 en Espa\u00f1a, Francia y Europa del Este, dando origen a algunos de los m\u00e1s grandes eruditos de la historia jud\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed como el aceite del olivo se utiliza para alimentar la Menor\u00e1, que simboliza la luz de la Tor\u00e1, la sabidur\u00eda perdurable del pueblo jud\u00edo ha iluminado al mundo a lo largo de la historia. Incluso en los tiempos m\u00e1s oscuros, su conocimiento y fe han sido un faro de luz, tal como la llama de la Menor\u00e1 brill\u00f3 con fuerza en el Templo Sagrado. Un ejemplo contundente de esto es el rabino Moshe ben Maim\u00f3n (Maim\u00f3nides), cuyas obras influyeron en figuras como el fil\u00f3sofo cristiano Tom\u00e1s de Aquino e incluso en gobernantes musulmanes como el Sult\u00e1n, quien busc\u00f3 su sabidur\u00eda. Esto demuestra c\u00f3mo el conocimiento jud\u00edo, bajo gran presi\u00f3n, irradi\u00f3 luz al mundo, inspirando tanto a jud\u00edos como a no jud\u00edos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una luz para las naciones y para el mundo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Volvamos a la explicaci\u00f3n de Rashi, que destaca que la Menor\u00e1 irradiaba simb\u00f3licamente luz hacia afuera, sirviendo como se\u00f1al de que la Presencia Divina siempre moraba entre el pueblo jud\u00edo y como testimonio para las naciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esto nos lleva al concepto de Israel como un \u201cOr LaGoyim\u201d (una luz para las naciones), como se describe en Jesaja 42:6<\/a>.2<\/a><\/sup> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6<\/strong> Yo Jehov\u00e1 te he llamado en justicia, y te he tomado de la mano, y te he guardado, y te he puesto por pacto del pueblo, por luz de las naciones;<\/td>\u05d5<\/strong>  \u05d0\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d3' \u05e7\u05b0\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9\u05da\u05b8 \u05d1\u05b0\u05e6\u05b6\u05d3\u05b6\u05e7, \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b7\u05d7\u05b0\u05d6\u05b5\u05e7 \u05d1\u05b0\u05bc\u05d9\u05b8\u05d3\u05b6\u05da\u05b8; \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05e6\u05b8\u05bc\u05e8\u05b0\u05da\u05b8, \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05ea\u05b6\u05bc\u05e0\u05b0\u05da\u05b8 \u05dc\u05b4\u05d1\u05b0\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05ea \u05e2\u05b8\u05dd\u2013\u05dc\u05b0\u05d0\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d2\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A trav\u00e9s de los siglos, las naciones han podido ver que la Presencia Divina siempre ha estado con el pueblo jud\u00edo, a medida que han descubierto continuamente nueva sabidur\u00eda y verdades en la Tor\u00e1, a pesar de \u2013o quiz\u00e1s debido a\u2013 el sufrimiento que soportaron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este testimonio deber\u00eda animar tambi\u00e9n a las naciones a estudiar la Tor\u00e1. Porque la luz de la Tor\u00e1 no es solo para los jud\u00edos. En Sanedr\u00edn 59a, leemos:
\u201cUn no jud\u00edo que estudia la Tor\u00e1 es como un Sumo Sacerdote\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toda persona enfrenta dificultades personales en la vida, ya sean enfermedades, dificultades econ\u00f3micas u otros desaf\u00edos que dificultan mantener la atenci\u00f3n en Dios o continuar el estudio de la Tor\u00e1. En esos momentos, puede resultar abrumador mantener la fe o encontrarle sentido a las dificultades. Sin embargo, el pueblo jud\u00edo nos ha demostrado que es precisamente a trav\u00e9s de estas pruebas que podemos experimentar un profundo aprendizaje y crecimiento espiritual. Las dificultades que han enfrentado a lo largo de la historia no solo han puesto a prueba su resistencia, sino que tambi\u00e9n los han llevado a una sabidur\u00eda y perspectivas m\u00e1s profundas, ense\u00f1\u00e1ndonos que los desaf\u00edos pueden ser transformadores si nos mantenemos comprometidos a aprender y crecer a trav\u00e9s de ellos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A trav\u00e9s del estudio de la Tor\u00e1, y especialmente de los 7 Mandamientos No\u00e1jidas, as\u00ed como los jud\u00edos traen luz al mundo, los no jud\u00edos pueden iluminar el mundo guardando las 7 mitzvot y sus ramificaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
