One possibility suggested by Rabbi Norman Lamm in his brilliant book on the Shema is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Hear O Israel Hashem our G-d: Hashem is One!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><p>Meaning: Always be attentive to (the &#8216;voice&#8217;) of Hashem&#8230;(Because) Hashem is One&#8230;There is nothing else. Everything expresses His reality.
