When a person believes in this and knows that G-d is in control of everything and that all that happens is under His control, he wants to connect with G-d and <strong>praise<\/strong> Him, <strong>ask for help<\/strong>, and <strong>thank<\/strong> Him because he trusts Him. This is accomplished through prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opinions differ on whether Noahides are obliged to pray or not. This is not strictly required for non-Jews because they were not commanded explicitly in the Seven Noahide Commandments to observe this<a id=\"_ftnref1\" href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nissim_ben_Jacob\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rabbi Nissim Gaon<\/a><a id=\"_ftnref2\" href=\"#_ftn2\"><u>[2]<\/u><\/a> implies such an obligation, writing:<br><br><em>\u201cNot all of the Seven Laws and their derivations require [Divine] revelation. For example: the obligation to recognize G-d, to obey Him, and the obligation to serve him \u2013 all of which are rational and can be logically derived.\u201d<\/em><br><br>The Hebrew term used by Rabbi Nissim for serving G-d, <em>le-avdo<\/em>, usually refers specifically to prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rabbi Moshe Weiner writes in <em>The Divine Code<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn3\" id=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe main part of this service of the heart and mind is prayer.<a href=\"#_ftn4\" id=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a> Therefore one should always pray before G-d, to make requests to Him for all of his needs, and he should thank and praise Him always according to his ability. Another goal of this prayer and contemplation is to bring the person to know that there is nothing worthy of complete trust except the One G-d, Who is King of the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>From the above points, we have now seen some key points how we should pray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do it with attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The recommended order of prayer: Praise G-d, make your requests, thank G-d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is good for Noahides to start their day with the <em>Modeh Ani<\/em> prayer. This prayer acknowledges G-d as the eternal King, Who returns our souls every morning after sleeping. We should be grateful to receive a new day of life and to be rested to face the day with renewed energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Modeh Ani prayer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u05de\u05d5\u05b9\u05d3\u05b6\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05dc\u05b0\u05e4\u05b8\u05e0\u05b6\u05d9\u05da\u05b8 \u05de\u05b6\u05dc\u05b6\u05da\u05b0 \u05d7\u05b7\u05d9 \u05d5\u05b0\u05e7\u05b7\u05d9\u05b8\u05bc\u05dd \u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05d4\u05b6\u05d7\u05b1\u05d6\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05ea\u05b8\u05bc \u05d1\u05b5\u05bc\u05d9 \u05e0\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05de\u05b8\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d1\u05b0\u05bc\u05d7\u05b6\u05de\u05b0\u05dc\u05b8\u05d4. \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1\u05b8\u05bc\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b1\u05de\u05d5\u05bc\u05e0\u05b8\u05ea\u05b6\u05da\u05b8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transliteration:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>Modeh ani l\u2019fonecha Melech chai v\u2019kayom, shehechezarta bi nishmasi bechemlah. Rabah emunashecho.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Translation:<\/strong>&nbsp;I give thanks to You living and everlasting King for You have restored my soul with mercy. Great is Your faithfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 When you want to say the&nbsp;<em>Modeh Ani<\/em>&nbsp;prayer in Hebrew, make a slight pause between the words &#8220;<em>bechemlah<\/em>&#8221; and &#8220;<em>Rabah<\/em>&#8220;<a id=\"_ftnref6\" href=\"#_ftn6\">[5]<\/a>, because there should be two separate sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Questions regularly asked are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Should Noahide pray in Hebrew?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can I pray while lying in my bed?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What should I wear?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where should I pray?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T<\/strong><strong>he answers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Noahide may pray to G-d in his own language, in his own words, at his own time. Noahides have no standard liturgy. However, there are prayer books<a id=\"_ftnref7\" href=\"#_ftn7\">[6]<\/a> that can be used by a Noahide if one finds it convenient. In addition, the Psalms can be said, which are all prayers to G-d that were composed with holy inspiration.<a id=\"_ftnref8\" href=\"#_ftn8\">[7]<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>Modeh Ani<\/em> prayer can be said in bed, provided one\u2019s private parts are covered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For all other prayers, one should be decently dressed. Beyond that, modestly dressed for a Noahide woman means that the clothing covers the entire torso up to the collarbone, and the sleeves come up to over the elbows and the legs are covered at least past the knees.<a id=\"_ftnref9\" href=\"#_ftn9\">[8]<\/a><br><br>During prayer, it is decent to wear something on your feet, as you would if you were standing before a king.<br><br>Head covering for a married Noahide woman is not obligatory, but it is proper to cover her hair when outside her house or in the presence of men other than her husband. Noahide men are not required to wear a head covering, but it is especially recommended when one is in a synagogue or other Jewish holy place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One should pray in a decent room, where there is no unpleasant smell, no idols or people who are not decently dressed.<br><br>It is advisable to have a fixed place and time for prayer. It is not obligatory to pray in the direction of Jerusalem.
