Je n\u2019ai jamais su si cela signifiait \u201c\u00a0profite de la vie\u00a0\u201d ou s\u2019il s\u2019agissait d\u2019un vague message missionnaire chr\u00e9tien. Quoi qu\u2019il en soit, ces t-shirts se sont vendus comme des petits pains. Des expressions similaires ont fait leur apparition dans le langage populaire et les ouvrages de d\u00e9veloppement personnel, comme le latin <em>carpe diem<\/em>.Il y a quelque chose d&#039;attrayant dans l&#039;invitation \u00e0 surmonter ses appr\u00e9hensions et soit \u00e0 faire ce que l&#039;on ferait si l&#039;on savait qu&#039;on ne pouvait pas \u00e9chouer, soit \u00e0 savourer chaque instant de la vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le verset d\u00e9clare : \u201c Vois, j\u2019ai plac\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui devant toi le bien et la vie, le mal et la mort \u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Deuteronomy.30.15?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\">Deut\u00e9ronome 30:15)<\/a>.Rachi (loc. cit.) note que la juxtaposition des concepts sugg\u00e8re un lien : \u201c Si vous faites le bien, vous vivez, et si vous faites le mal, vous mourez. \u201d Il ne s&#039;agit pas d&#039;une simple affirmation de type \u201c si-alors \u201d ; dans chaque paire, les deux choses se produisent simultan\u00e9ment. Il y a une mani\u00e8re d&#039;\u00eatre qui, parce qu&#039;elle est bonne, est la vie, et une autre mani\u00e8re, qui est la mort parce qu&#039;elle n&#039;est pas bonne. Plus loin, Mo\u00efse dit : \u201c Vous choisirez la vie \u201d (verset 19). Bien s\u00fbr, il ne s&#039;agit pas de n&#039;importe quelle vie, il s&#039;agit de la vie elle-m\u00eame. <em>le<\/em> La vie : une vie impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e de Torah, satur\u00e9e d&#039;un lien profond avec Dieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De plus, si l&#039;on s&#039;en tient au texte, il ne s&#039;agit pas d&#039;un commandement\u00a0; la valeur de cette vie que nous sommes appel\u00e9s \u00e0 vivre est directement proportionnelle \u00e0 la mesure dans laquelle nous la choisissons. Nous pouvons tous le constater par nous-m\u00eames. Si vous n&#039;aimiez pas l&#039;\u00e9cole primaire \u00e9tant enfant, mais que vous prenez plaisir \u00e0 apprendre \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e2ge adulte, le cha\u00eenon manquant est probablement le libre arbitre. Nous nous investissons dans ce que nous choisissons.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ainsi, \u201c\u00a0tu choisiras la vie\u00a0\u201d est une mitsva. Rachi (loc. cit.) propose l&#039;analogie d&#039;un p\u00e8re qui emm\u00e8ne son fils se promener sur ses terres et lui demande de choisir une parcelle de choix. Le p\u00e8re, plus sage que son fils, ne le laisse pas prendre n&#039;importe quelle parcelle, mais le conduit vers la meilleure et lui dit\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Prends celle-ci.\u00a0\u201d Le p\u00e8re enseigne ainsi \u00e0 son fils comment discerner le bien et faire des choix judicieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le reste du verset dit : \u201c (choisissez la vie), afin que vous et votre descendance viviez \u201d (ibid.). Faites le choix de vous rapprocher de Dieu et laissez Sa Torah transformer votre vie, afin que celle que vous menez soit v\u00e9ritablement v\u00e9cue : droite, saine, compatissante, mis\u00e9ricordieuse et bienveillante.
