Vayishlach (Gen\u00e8se 32:4-36:43<\/a> )<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans la paracha de cette semaine, Jacob lutte pour sa survie contre l'ange d'\u00c9sa\u00fc. Jacob parvient \u00e0 se d\u00e9fendre, mais l'ange r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 le blesser \u00e0 la cuisse. En cons\u00e9quence, la Torah interdit de consommer la partie du nerf sciatique (gid hanasheh) des animaux casher, situ\u00e9 dans la cuisse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La question qui se pose est la suivante : pourquoi, puisque l'ange d'\u00c9sa\u00fc a bless\u00e9 Jacob \u00e0 la cuisse, devrait-il y avoir une interdiction \u00e9ternelle de manger de la viande provenant de cette partie du corps ? Le Sefer HaChinuch explique que cette mitsva vise \u00e0 rappeler au peuple juif que, malgr\u00e9 les nombreuses \u00e9preuves qu'il subira en exil aux mains des nations non juives, il ne sera pas an\u00e9anti. Le peuple juif existera toujours et, un jour, un R\u00e9dempteur viendra le sauver de ses oppresseurs. L'ange d'\u00c9sa\u00fc, qui lutta avec Jacob, souhaitait l'exterminer et faire dispara\u00eetre le peuple juif du monde. Il n'y parvint pas, mais il r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 le blesser en touchant son nerf sciatique. Nous apprenons ici que l'histoire se d\u00e9roulera ainsi : les nations tenteront de nous d\u00e9truire et nous nuiront consid\u00e9rablement, mais nous survivrons et, finalement, nous conna\u00eetrons le salut, comme ce fut le cas pour Jacob, lorsqu'il est dit que \u201c le soleil brilla pour lui \u201d et que sa blessure fut compl\u00e8tement gu\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les commentaires du Zohar apportent un autre argument en faveur de l'id\u00e9e que le nerf sciatique repr\u00e9sente nos souffrances inflig\u00e9es par les nations.1<\/sup> Les sources rabbiniques enseignent que les 365 mitsvot n\u00e9gatives correspondent aux 365 tendons du corps. De plus, elles correspondent \u00e9galement aux 365 jours de l'ann\u00e9e. Quel jour correspond \u00e0 l'interdiction de manger le nerf sciatique\u00a0? Le Zohar enseigne qu'il s'agit de Tisha BeAv, le jour o\u00f9 nos ennemis nous ont le plus nui. Cependant, de m\u00eame que Jacob triompha et que sa blessure fut gu\u00e9rie \u00e0 la fin de la bataille, nous sommes \u00e9galement certains qu'\u00e0 la fin des temps, nous surmonterons toutes nos \u00e9preuves et en ressortirons entiers, et Tisha BeAv se transformera en un jour de joie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voici une histoire tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante, racont\u00e9e par le rabbin Yissachar Frand \u00e0 propos du rabbin Mattisyahu Salomon.2<\/sup>. Cela illustre l'id\u00e9e qu'en fin de compte, nous survivrons tandis que nos ennemis p\u00e9riront. Le rabbin Salomon a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre yeshiva de Gateshead, situ\u00e9e dans le nord de l'Angleterre, tout pr\u00e8s de l'\u00c9cosse. Wallsend est une ville anglaise \u00e0 une quinzaine de kilom\u00e8tres de Gateshead. L'importance de cette ville et l'origine de son nom proviennent du fait que l'empereur romain Hadrien conquit toute l'Angleterre lorsqu'il r\u00e9gnait sur Rome, mais que l'\u00c9cosse \u00e9tait alors un pays ind\u00e9pendant. Afin d'emp\u00eacher les attaques \u00e9cossaises, les Romains, qui avaient conquis l'Angleterre, construisirent un mur connu sous le nom de mur d'Hadrien. Ce mur protecteur, \u00e9rig\u00e9 par Hadrien pour repousser les \u00c9cossais, s'arr\u00eatait \u00e0 Wallsend, d'o\u00f9 son nom. Aujourd'hui, Wallsend est une attraction touristique car il s'agit du dernier vestige du mur d'Hadrien. Le mur lui-m\u00eame n'est plus qu'un amas de pierres recouvertes de mousse, mais les visiteurs s'y rendent pour admirer ce t\u00e9moignage historique de l'Empire romain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un journaliste juif am\u00e9ricain s'\u00e9tait rendu un jour \u00e0 Wallsend pour \u00e9crire un article. Au milieu de la journ\u00e9e, il r\u00e9alisa qu'il avait Yahrzeit<\/em> pour son p\u00e8re ce jour-l\u00e0 (le Yahrzeit est l'anniversaire du d\u00e9c\u00e8s). Bien qu'il ne f\u00fbt pas pratiquant, de nombreux Juifs non pratiquants comm\u00e9morent le Yahrzeit de leurs parents.\u2019 Yahrzeit et r\u00e9citez le Kaddish<\/em>.<\/em> L'homme demanda autour de lui\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Existe-t-il un endroit o\u00f9 je pourrais trouver un minyan au milieu de nulle part\u00a0?\u00a0\u201d et on lui parla de la yeshiva de Gateshead. Le rabbin Frand raconte\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c Il entra dans le Beit Midrash (salle d'\u00e9tude) de Gateshead et vit \u2014 comme c'est souvent le cas dans une Yeshiva \u2014 que les Chavrusas se disputaient. L'un d'eux cria \u00e0 son partenaire d'\u00e9tude : \u201c Rabbi Akiva soutient exactement le contraire ! \u201d Ce journaliste am\u00e9ricain reconnut le nom de Rabbi Akiva. Il savait qu'une telle personne avait exist\u00e9. Soudain, une \u00e9vidence le frappa : comment Rabbi Akiva \u00e9tait-il mort ? Il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 mis \u00e0 mort par les Romains. Quels Romains ? Hadrien ! Hadrien \u00e9tait l'empereur romain qui avait fait ex\u00e9cuter Rabbi Akiva. Que reste-t-il d'Hadrien ? Un amas de pierres, aujourd'hui r\u00e9duit \u00e0 n\u00e9ant. Elles sont recouvertes de mousse. Et qu'en est-il de Rabbi Akiva, que Hadrien avait fait ex\u00e9cuter ? Deux mille ans plus tard, on continue d'\u00e9tudier la Torah de Rabbi Akiva et d'analyser en profondeur chacune de ses paroles et opinions. De retour en Am\u00e9rique, le journaliste r\u00e9digea son article : \u201c Le puissant Hadrien, qui mena des arm\u00e9es immenses \u00e0 de grandes victoires, n'a laiss\u00e9 de ses triomphes et de ses conqu\u00eates qu'un amas de pierres qui formait jadis un mur. \u00c0 l'inverse, les enseignements de Rabbi Akiva, qu'Hadrien chercha \u00e0 \u00e9radiquer, sont \u00e9tudi\u00e9s et d\u00e9battus pr\u00e8s de deux mille ans apr\u00e8s sa mort. \u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Voici le message de gid hanasheh<\/em>. Ils tenteront de nous vaincre. Ils tenteront de nous anéantir. Mais le peuple juif est éternel. Nous souffrirons peut-être. Nous serons peut-être affaiblis. Mais au final, nous survivrons.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n
