Rachi \u00e9crit que l\u2019\u00c9gypte et Canaan \u00e9taient les nations les plus d\u00e9cadentes moralement, et en particulier les r\u00e9gions o\u00f9 vivaient les Juifs \u00e9taient les pires de ces pays. Pourquoi Dieu a-t-il d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment plac\u00e9 le peuple juif dans les endroits les plus corrompus de la Terre\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le rabbin Dessler r\u00e9pond \u00e0 cette question dans un essai o\u00f9 il examine comment r\u00e9agir face \u00e0 un environnement n\u00e9gatif (2). Il observe qu&#039;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9gative peut avoir un effet tr\u00e8s n\u00e9faste sur une personne. Cependant, si celle-ci est suffisamment forte pour ne pas \u00eatre affect\u00e9e par ces influences n\u00e9gatives, cela peut en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 la fortifier dans son service divin. Comment cela se fait-il\u00a0? Le rabbin Dessler explique que lorsqu&#039;il est confront\u00e9 au mal qui l&#039;entoure, celui-ci lui para\u00eet plus r\u00e9pugnant car il prend davantage conscience de sa n\u00e9gativit\u00e9. Cela lui permet de renforcer encore davantage son appr\u00e9ciation du bien. Fort de cette compr\u00e9hension de la nature humaine, le rabbin Dessler formule une observation historique qui peut expliquer pourquoi Dieu a d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment plac\u00e9 le peuple juif dans les endroits les plus d\u00e9prav\u00e9s de la Terre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c Chaque fois qu\u2019il y avait besoin d\u2019un&nbsp;<em>tsaddik<\/em>&nbsp;(homme juste) pour atteindre un niveau extr\u00eamement \u00e9lev\u00e9, le&nbsp;<em>tsaddik<\/em>&nbsp;Il fut jet\u00e9 dans les milieux les plus vils et les plus d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s afin qu\u2019il puisse apprendre d\u2019eux la bassesse du mal et se fortifier dans le bien jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame oppos\u00e9. (3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dieu a d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment plac\u00e9 le peuple juif en \u00c9gypte afin qu&#039;il d\u00e9veloppe une haine intense de son impuret\u00e9 extr\u00eame, ce qui, \u00e9crit-il, fut leur motivation premi\u00e8re pour implorer Dieu de les lib\u00e9rer de ce lieu terrible. Ce profond d\u00e9go\u00fbt leur permit de s&#039;\u00e9lever rapidement du 49e degr\u00e9 d&#039;impuret\u00e9 jusqu&#039;\u00e0 celui de pouvoir recevoir la Torah. S&#039;ils s&#039;\u00e9taient trouv\u00e9s dans un environnement moins immoral, ils n&#039;auraient pas pu atteindre un tel niveau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela semble \u00e9galement expliquer pourquoi le peuple juif dut se rendre dans une terre tout aussi r\u00e9pugnante. Le spectacle de l&#039;immoralit\u00e9 des Canan\u00e9ens visait \u00e0 intensifier leur d\u00e9go\u00fbt du mal et, par cons\u00e9quent, \u00e0 renforcer leur attachement \u00e0 la morale de la Torah.(4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le rabbin Dessler utilise ce concept pour aider \u00e0 comprendre un autre passage abord\u00e9 dans la portion de cette semaine \u2013 le&nbsp;<em>Seir l&#039;Azazel<\/em>. Le jour le plus saint de l&#039;ann\u00e9e, Yom Kippour, la Torah nous ordonne de faire traverser un bouc au d\u00e9sert et de le pr\u00e9cipiter du haut d&#039;une falaise. Quelle est la signification de ce rituel\u00a0? Rav Dessler explique que le d\u00e9sert est le lieu o\u00f9 l&#039;on sacrifie des boucs aux forces du mal. En faisant traverser le bouc \u00e0 ce lieu impur et en s&#039;exposant \u00e0 son impuret\u00e9 \u00e0 Yom Kippour, le peuple se trouve fortifi\u00e9 dans son service divin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le principe du Rav Dessler nous aide \u00e9galement \u00e0 comprendre certains concepts li\u00e9s \u00e0 Pessa&#039;h. Nous commen\u00e7ons la Haggadah en \u00e9voquant nos anc\u00eatres idol\u00e2tres. Le Rav Dessler demande alors : quel est le lien avec l&#039;histoire de la sortie d&#039;\u00c9gypte ? Il r\u00e9pond que, malgr\u00e9 cette impuret\u00e9 ambiante, Abraham a atteint un niveau de saintet\u00e9 si \u00e9lev\u00e9 que sa puissance est devenue inalt\u00e9rable. La lib\u00e9ration d&#039;\u00c9gypte a jailli directement de cette saintet\u00e9. Ainsi, si nous parlons de nos anc\u00eatres idol\u00e2tres, c&#039;est pour souligner que c&#039;est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 cause de leur impuret\u00e9 qu&#039;Abraham a atteint un tel niveau de saintet\u00e9, et que c&#039;est sa grandeur qui, \u00e0 son tour, a pr\u00e9par\u00e9 le terrain pour l&#039;Exode d&#039;\u00c9gypte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous comprenons mieux aujourd&#039;hui pourquoi la Haggaddah s&#039;attarde autant sur les influences n\u00e9fastes, notamment celles de nos anc\u00eatres idol\u00e2tres, des \u00c9gyptiens et de Laban. Il s&#039;agit peut-\u00eatre de susciter notre d\u00e9go\u00fbt pour ces personnes immorales et, par cons\u00e9quent, d&#039;accro\u00eetre notre gratitude envers Dieu qui nous a lib\u00e9r\u00e9s d&#039;elles et nous a donn\u00e9 la Torah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le monde actuel, le risque d&#039;\u00eatre affect\u00e9 n\u00e9gativement par diverses influences n\u00e9fastes est constant. Le principe du Rav Dessler peut nous aider \u00e0 g\u00e9rer ces influences et peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame \u00e0 les mettre \u00e0 profit.
