J&#039;ai vu mon reflet dans l&#039;eau. J&#039;ai vu que mon&nbsp;<em>yetser hara<\/em>&nbsp;(Une tendance n\u00e9gative) prenait le dessus et tentait de me chasser du monde (par arrogance). Je me suis dit \u00e0 moi-m\u00eame&nbsp;<em>negative inclination<\/em><em>:<\/em>&nbsp;\u2018\u00a0M\u00e9chant, pourquoi t\u2019extasies-tu autant devant ma beaut\u00e9 vou\u00e9e \u00e0 se transformer un jour en poussi\u00e8re et en vers\u00a0? Je jure que je me raserai la t\u00eate pour l\u2019amour du Ciel.\u00a0\u2019 Shimon haTzadik conclut\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Je me levai aussit\u00f4t, l\u2019embrassai sur la t\u00eate et le b\u00e9nis\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Mon fils, que le nombre de ceux qui prennent&nbsp;<em>Nezirut<\/em>&nbsp;Des v\u0153ux comme les v\u00f4tres se multiplient en Isra\u00ebl. \u00c0 propos de gens comme vous, il est \u00e9crit : \u2018 \u2026 un homme ou une femme qui prononce un v\u0153u&nbsp;<em>Nezirut<\/em>faire v\u0153u de se consacrer \u00e0 Hashem.<sup>3<\/sup>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans cette histoire, qu&#039;est-ce qui a pouss\u00e9 le jeune homme \u00e0 devenir nazir\u00a0? Un sentiment d&#039;arrogance n\u00e9 de la beaut\u00e9 de ses cheveux. C&#039;est ce sentiment qui l&#039;a conduit \u00e0 devenir nazir, afin de laisser pousser ses cheveux, puis de les couper et d&#039;offrir les sacrifices rituels. Or, selon l&#039;enseignement rabbinique cit\u00e9 par Rachi, on ne devient pas nazir par arrogance, mais plut\u00f4t par d\u00e9sir de se livrer \u00e0 des actes immoraux. Comment expliquer cette contradiction\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Chiddushei Lev<sup>4<\/sup>&nbsp;Rachi rel\u00e8ve une divergence similaire concernant la mitsva de Sotah, ce qui peut nous aider \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la question du Nazir.<sup>5<\/sup>, Citant le Midrash, il est \u00e9crit qu&#039;une personne ne s&#039;engage dans l&#039;immoralit\u00e9 que par un \u201c ruach shtut \u2018 (un esprit de folie). Les commentateurs pr\u00e9cisent qu&#039;il s&#039;agit d&#039;un esprit de d\u00e9sir qui \u00e9gare l&#039;individu. Pourtant, le Talmud sugg\u00e8re une autre cause \u00e0 l&#039;immoralit\u00e9\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Rebbe Chiya Bar Abba dit au nom de Rebbe Yochanan\u00a0: \u201cTout homme orgueilleux finira par commettre l&#039;adult\u00e8re avec une femme mari\u00e9e.\u201d\u00a0\u00bb L\u00e0 encore, il semble y avoir une contradiction entre les causes du comportement immoral pouvant mener au cas tragique de la Sotah\u00a0: s&#039;agit-il de la luxure ou de l&#039;arrogance\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Chiddushei Lev r\u00e9pond que la cause directe du p\u00e9ch\u00e9 de la Sotah est la luxure, mais que la cause profonde de la luxure est l&#039;arrogance. Il explique que lorsqu&#039;une personne est arrogante, elle se croit en droit d&#039;obtenir tout ce qu&#039;elle d\u00e9sire et, par cons\u00e9quent, est pr\u00eate \u00e0 franchir les limites pour obtenir ce qu&#039;elle estime lui revenir de droit. Le Chiddushei Lev cite un Midrash.<sup>6<\/sup>&nbsp;Dans le m\u00eame esprit, on raconte l&#039;histoire d&#039;un homme mari\u00e9 qui voulait avoir une liaison avec une autre femme, mais ses plans furent d\u00e9jou\u00e9s. Sa femme le r\u00e9primanda, lui faisant remarquer que la plupart des hommes sont heureux en m\u00e9nage, mais que lui, avide de plus, \u00e9tait anim\u00e9 par son arrogance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon les termes du Chiddushei Lev : \u201c Puisqu&#039;il est dans la nature de l&#039;homme de convoiter uniquement les choses qu&#039;il estime m\u00e9riter et qu&#039;il peut ainsi obtenir, si cet homme n&#039;\u00e9tait pas arrogant, il ne d\u00e9sirerait pas agir de mani\u00e8re immorale avec la femme d&#039;un autre homme, car il sentirait qu&#039;il ne m\u00e9rite pas plus que ce qu&#039;il a, comme c&#039;est le cas pour la plupart des hommes qui sont satisfaits de leurs femmes et ne cherchent pas davantage. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est possible d&#039;appliquer la m\u00eame approche \u00e0 la contradiction concernant Nazir. Nous avons constat\u00e9 que le Talmud, dans Sotah, enseigne qu&#039;une personne devient Nazir par d\u00e9sir, tandis que le Talmud, dans Nazir, cite l&#039;exemple d&#039;un jeune homme devenu Nazir par arrogance. En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, ces deux traits n\u00e9gatifs peuvent conduire au p\u00e9ch\u00e9, et une personne peut donc \u00eatre motiv\u00e9e \u00e0 devenir Nazir par le d\u00e9sir ou par l&#039;arrogance. Cependant, selon le principe du Chiddushei Lev, la cause profonde de son d\u00e9sir est en fait son arrogance, car cette attitude le pousse \u00e0 croire qu&#039;il a droit \u00e0 tous les plaisirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette id\u00e9e peut nous aider \u00e0 comprendre pourquoi Shimon HaTzaddik soup\u00e7onnait que tous les Nazir qu&#039;il connaissait n&#039;agissaient pas pour la gloire du Ciel, \u00e0 l&#039;exception de ce jeune homme. On peut supposer qu&#039;il se concentrait sur l&#039;arrogance, cause premi\u00e8re de la justice, et qu&#039;en s&#039;effor\u00e7ant de s&#039;humilier, il parviendrait \u00e0 ma\u00eetriser ses d\u00e9sirs. Cependant, la plupart des gens deviennent Nazir par crainte des cons\u00e9quences d&#039;une luxure excessive. Bien que cette attitude soit louable, elle ne s&#039;attaque pas \u00e0 la cause profonde de ces sentiments : l&#039;arrogance. Par cons\u00e9quent, une telle personne peut tenter d&#039;\u00eatre un Nazir, mais \u00eatre d\u00e9tourn\u00e9e d&#039;agir par pur altruisme par son arrogance sous-jacente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous avons appris que les p\u00e9ch\u00e9s d&#039;immoralit\u00e9 trouvent souvent leur origine dans un sentiment d&#039;arrogance, lorsqu&#039;une personne se croit en droit de jouir de tous les plaisirs.
