The Aramaic translation of Torah is Oraissa, which means Light. (2) The root &#8216;yrh&#8217; &#8211; which means to shoot or project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Torah, of course, is meant to illuminate our world and our lives. It is also supposed to move us in a certain direction. The light of Torah directs us to that destination.
