Il est ensuite \u00e9crit \u00e0 propos d&#039;Abraham\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Il planta un arbre \u00e0 Beer-Sch\u00e9ba et l\u00e0 il invoqua le nom de l&#039;\u00c9ternel, le Dieu \u00e9ternel\u00a0\u201d (Gen\u00e8se 21, 33). Le Talmud rapporte qu&#039;Abraham planta un verger au milieu du d\u00e9sert pour le bien de ses h\u00f4tes. Une autre interpr\u00e9tation y voit une auberge, o\u00f9 il offrait \u00e0 ses h\u00f4tes nourriture, boisson et abri. Abraham \u00e9tait constamment occup\u00e9 \u00e0 faire le bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 l&#039;inverse, Sodome et Gomorrhe repr\u00e9sentent le contraire. Les habitants de Sodome \u00e9taient des \u201c\u00a0p\u00e9cheurs abominables\u00a0\u201d, et leur organisation sociale privil\u00e9giait l&#039;int\u00e9r\u00eat personnel \u00e0 la justice, entra\u00eenant de graves cons\u00e9quences morales. Ils interdisaient toute forme de charit\u00e9 et de bienveillance et cr\u00e9\u00e8rent un syst\u00e8me juridique qui favorisait leurs int\u00e9r\u00eats, ignorant les normes morales sup\u00e9rieures et les sept commandements noachiques d\u00e9j\u00e0 connus de leur g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Les Sodomites ne respectaient pas le droit de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 et utilisaient leur pouvoir judiciaire pour instaurer un \u00c9tat d\u00e9tenant une autorit\u00e9 absolue sur la vie et la mort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La d\u00e9cadence morale de Sodome pr\u00e9sente des similitudes avec des tendances soci\u00e9tales actuelles telles que l&#039;euthanasie, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement interdites par la loi noachique (\u00e0 quelques exceptions pr\u00e8s dans des cas extr\u00eames). L&#039;euthanasie des personnes handicap\u00e9es illustre le risque d&#039;une d\u00e9rive morale, o\u00f9 une pratique initialement acceptable pourrait mener \u00e0 des violations \u00e9thiques de plus en plus graves, comme ce fut le cas \u00e0 Sodome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce texte nous invite \u00e0 la prudence quant aux d\u00e9cisions actuelles concernant la vie et la mort.
