La Torah d\u00e9crit comment Dieu ordonne aux Isra\u00e9lites de contribuer (\u201c\u00a0terouma\u00a0\u201d) \u00e0 la construction du Tabernacle, en utilisant l\u2019expression\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Ils prendront pour Moi une offrande\u00a0\u201d (Exode 25,2). Cette formulation est inhabituelle, car c\u2019est le peuple qui donne, et non qui re\u00e7oit. Comment une contribution obligatoire, m\u00eame exig\u00e9e par la force, peut-elle \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un don volontaire \u201c\u00a0pour l\u2019amour de Dieu\u00a0\u201d\u00a0? Le fait de donner par obligation est-il compatible avec l\u2019exigence que le don soit fait \u201c\u00a0pour Moi, pour Mon nom\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00eame une contribution obligatoire peut devenir un acte volontaire gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une intention pure. Si le donateur, malgr\u00e9 l'obligation, donne de bon c\u0153ur et avec le d\u00e9sir sinc\u00e8re d'accomplir le commandement de Dieu, l'acte devient une offrande volontaire. M\u00eame la contribution impos\u00e9e peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un don fait \u201c pour l'amour de Dieu \u201d si l'on en reconna\u00eet l'importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien que la charit\u00e9 ne figure pas explicitement parmi les Sept Lois noachides, elle est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un acte juste, et d\u00e9coule \u00e9galement du principe g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de \u201c suivre les voies de Dieu \u201d. Les Noachides sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 donner volontairement, anim\u00e9s par un d\u00e9sir sinc\u00e8re d'honorer Dieu et d'am\u00e9liorer la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. M\u00eame si cet acte n'est pas obligatoire, sa valeur morale et spirituelle r\u00e9side dans la sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 de l'intention. Ma\u00efmonide, par exemple, place la charit\u00e9 donn\u00e9e avec joie au-dessus de celle donn\u00e9e avec tristesse. L'avantage pour les Noachides est qu'un acte volontaire t\u00e9moigne d'un choix authentique, qui \u00e9mane d'une source sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle d'un acte impos\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De plus, la charit\u00e9 rev\u00eat une importance particuli\u00e8re, car elle peut h\u00e2ter l'av\u00e8nement du salut. Le Talmud affirme\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Grande est la charit\u00e9, car elle rapproche le salut\u00a0\u201d (Baba Batra 10a). Ce verset illustre le pouvoir transformateur de la charit\u00e9, non seulement pour celui qui la re\u00e7oit, mais aussi pour celui qui la donne et pour le monde entier. En accomplissant des actes de charit\u00e9, nous contribuons \u00e0 b\u00e2tir un monde plus juste, ouvrant ainsi la voie \u00e0 un avenir meilleur pour toute l'humanit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
