Pourtant, \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue, le nom de notre portion, No\u00e9, semble contredire son essence m\u00eame. Cette portion traite principalement d&#039;\u00e9v\u00e9nements d\u00e9vastateurs \u2013 le D\u00e9luge qui a ravag\u00e9 le monde et le p\u00e9ch\u00e9 et le ch\u00e2timent de la Tour de Babel \u2013 tandis que son nom, No\u00e9, signifie repos et tranquillit\u00e9. Comment le nom No\u00e9 \u2013 repos \u2013 peut-il \u00eatre attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 une portion dont le sujet tout entier est l&#039;oppos\u00e9 du repos\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le nom de No\u00e9 nous r\u00e9v\u00e8le la signification profonde cach\u00e9e derri\u00e8re ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements terribles. Si le D\u00e9luge fut assur\u00e9ment l&#039;antith\u00e8se de la paix et du repos, c&#039;est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 lui que le v\u00e9ritable repos fut atteint. Le D\u00e9luge purifia la terre et cr\u00e9a un monde infiniment meilleur que celui qui l&#039;avait pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9. Lorsque No\u00e9 sortit de l&#039;arche, il \u201c vit un monde nouveau \u201d, un monde spirituellement \u00e9lev\u00e9. Ainsi, en d\u00e9finitive, les eaux du D\u00e9luge furent v\u00e9ritablement des eaux qui apport\u00e8rent enfin le repos et le renouveau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le passage de la Torah consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 No\u00e9 contient de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e9ments directement li\u00e9s aux Bnei No\u00e9. La Torah d\u00e9crit la sortie de No\u00e9 de l&#039;arche et le r\u00e9tablissement de l&#039;alliance de Dieu avec toute l&#039;humanit\u00e9. Cette alliance constitue le fondement de l&#039;accomplissement des sept commandements noachides. Dieu ordonna \u00e0 No\u00e9 et \u00e0 ses fils de lib\u00e9rer tous les \u00eatres vivants de l&#039;arche et de leur permettre \u201c de cro\u00eetre et de se multiplier, et de remplir la terre \u201d (Gen\u00e8se 8:17). L&#039;arc-en-ciel apparu apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9luge symbolise l&#039;alliance universelle entre Dieu et toute chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En quittant l&#039;Arche, No\u00e9 construisit un autel et offrit des sacrifices. Les Bnei Noah \u00e9taient autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 offrir des holocaustes d&#039;animaux purs en signe de gratitude envers le Cr\u00e9ateur. Bien que cette pratique ne soit plus recommand\u00e9e aujourd&#039;hui, en raison du savoir-faire particulier qu&#039;elle exige, elle symbolise le droit des Bnei Noah de servir le Cr\u00e9ateur par des sacrifices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No\u00e9 re\u00e7ut un commandement suppl\u00e9mentaire qui d\u00e9veloppait les six re\u00e7us par Adam (interdictions de l&#039;idol\u00e2trie, du blasph\u00e8me, du meurtre, des relations sexuelles illicites, du vol et obligation d&#039;\u00e9tablir un syst\u00e8me de justice). Le dernier commandement donn\u00e9 \u00e0 No\u00e9 \u00e9tait l&#039;interdiction de manger un membre d&#039;un animal vivant. Cette interdiction compl\u00e8te le d\u00e9compte des sept commandements noachiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finalement, les eaux du d\u00e9luge apport\u00e8rent calme et renouveau au monde. La vie qui se maintint dans l&#039;arche de No\u00e9 est un microcosme de l&#039;\u00e8re messianique. \u00c0 l&#039;int\u00e9rieur de l&#039;arche, les conflits naturels ordinaires \u00e9taient suspendus\u00a0: pr\u00e9dateurs et proies coexistaient non seulement sans violence, mais en parfaite harmonie et soumission au commandement divin. Il n&#039;y avait ni haine, ni souffrance, ni lutte pour la survie.
