Cette lecture contient un r\u00e9cit sur la crainte de Mo\u00efse et une le\u00e7on \u00e9ternelle de confiance et de foi en Dieu. (D&#039;apr\u00e8s Likutei Sichot, vol. 36, p. 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Foi, confiance et crainte dans la paracha Shemot<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Le d\u00e9but de l&#039;exil et la question centrale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La paracha de cette semaine s&#039;intitule Shemot, ce qui signifie \u201c\u00a0Noms\u00a0\u201d. Elle commence par les noms des Enfants d&#039;Isra\u00ebl descendant du pays de Canaan vers le pays d&#039;\u00c9gypte. C&#039;est le d\u00e9but de l&#039;exil, et la paracha explique ensuite comment tout converge vers la sortie de l&#039;exil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans la lecture de cette semaine, un r\u00e9cit concernant Mo\u00efse met en lumi\u00e8re la diff\u00e9rence entre la foi et la confiance. Ces deux notions sont distinctes. De plus, dans ce r\u00e9cit, Mo\u00efse a peur, ce qui soul\u00e8ve une question importante\u00a0: est-il bon d\u2019avoir peur\u00a0? Dieu ne nous r\u00e9serve peut-\u00eatre pas une bonne surprise. La peur est-elle donc justifi\u00e9e\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On trouve d&#039;autres exemples dans la Torah o\u00f9 de grandes figures ont \u00e9prouv\u00e9 de la peur. Mo\u00efse lui-m\u00eame eut peur plus tard, lorsqu&#039;il dut affronter Sihon et Og, les rois des fronti\u00e8res d&#039;Isra\u00ebl. Jacob craignit de rencontrer son fr\u00e8re \u00c9sa\u00fc, qui voulait le tuer. Il est donc clair que la peur se manifeste m\u00eame chez les plus grands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais comment cela est-il possible\u00a0? Si Dieu a promis \u00e0 Jacob que tout irait bien, pourquoi avait-il peur\u00a0? Avez-vous confiance en Dieu ou non\u00a0? Croyez-vous en Dieu ou non\u00a0? Que se passe-t-il\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L&#039;histoire de Mo\u00efse et de l&#039;\u00c9gyptien<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour comprendre tout cela, il nous faut examiner attentivement l&#039;histoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mo\u00efse grandit au palais du pharaon, roi d&#039;\u00c9gypte. Un jour, il sortit pour voir ce qui se passait chez ses fr\u00e8res, le peuple juif. Il vit un \u00c9gyptien frapper un Juif. Il regarda autour de lui et, voyant que personne ne le regardait, il tua l&#039;\u00c9gyptien et cacha son corps dans le sable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le lendemain, Mo\u00efse sortit de nouveau et vit un Juif qui tentait de frapper un autre Juif. Il lui dit\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Pourquoi le frappes-tu\u00a0?\u00a0\u201d L\u2019homme r\u00e9pondit\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Veux-tu me tuer comme tu as tu\u00e9 l\u2019\u00c9gyptien hier\u00a0?\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 ce moment-l\u00e0, la Torah rapporte que Mo\u00efse eut peur, car l&#039;affaire \u00e9tait connue. Peu apr\u00e8s, Pharaon apprit que Mo\u00efse avait tu\u00e9 l&#039;\u00c9gyptien et voulut le faire mourir. Mo\u00efse s&#039;enfuit alors \u00e0 Madian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La question demeure\u00a0: est-il normal d\u2019avoir peur\u00a0? Si Dieu promet protection, comme dans le cas de Jacob, pourquoi avoir peur\u00a0? La peur est-elle un manque de confiance\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Que signifie r\u00e9ellement la confiance ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour comprendre cela, nous devons comprendre ce que signifie r\u00e9ellement la confiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe un livre c\u00e9l\u00e8bre intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Les devoirs du c\u0153ur\u00a0\u00bb (Chovot HaLevavot). Il explique que la confiance en Dieu (bitachon) procure une parfaite tranquillit\u00e9 int\u00e9rieure. La personne est calme, sereine et en paix, car Dieu agira pour son bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais d\u2019o\u00f9 vient ce genre de confiance ? Comment une personne peut-elle rester vraiment calme lorsque la vie est faite de d\u00e9fis, de probl\u00e8mes et de souffrances ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une explication possible est la foi. La foi, c&#039;est croire que Dieu est l&#039;essence du bien et qu&#039;il fait toujours le bien. M\u00eame lorsqu&#039;une situation est d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able, on peut se dire que cela est peut-\u00eatre d\u00fb \u00e0 ses p\u00e9ch\u00e9s, ou que cela est peut-\u00eatre b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour soi d&#039;une mani\u00e8re qu&#039;on ne comprend pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais ce n&#039;est pas vraiment de la confiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La confiance implique d&#039;avoir la certitude absolue que Dieu agira pour mon bien selon ma propre conception du bien, et non seulement selon la sienne. Il ne s&#039;agit pas de dire\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Cette souffrance est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour moi\u00a0\u201d, mais plut\u00f4t\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Dieu m&#039;aidera d&#039;une mani\u00e8re que je pourrai clairement percevoir comme un bienfait.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La confiance comme travail int\u00e9rieur<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La question se pose alors avec encore plus d&#039;acuit\u00e9. Comment peut-on en \u00eatre aussi s\u00fbr ? M\u00eame sans le m\u00e9riter, comment \u00eatre certain que Dieu nous aidera ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9ponse est que la confiance n&#039;est pas passive. La confiance est un acte (avodah). C&#039;est un travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La confiance ne consiste pas \u00e0 rester passif, \u00e0 se dire\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Je suis d\u00e9tendu, Dieu s\u2019occupera de tout\u00a0\u201d, et \u00e0 ne rien faire. Elle implique un travail actif sur soi-m\u00eame pour remettre son fardeau \u00e0 Dieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe une histoire bien connue \u00e0 propos du troisi\u00e8me Rabbi de Loubavitch, le Tzemach Tzedek. Un homme vint le trouver, accabl\u00e9 de nombreux probl\u00e8mes et difficult\u00e9s. Le Rabbi lui r\u00e9pondit\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Pensez bien, et tout ira bien.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On entend souvent cela et on pense que cela signifie simplement avoir une attitude positive. Mais ce n&#039;est pas ce qu&#039;il voulait dire. L&#039;id\u00e9e est de remettre v\u00e9ritablement ses probl\u00e8mes entre les mains de Dieu. Comme le dit le roi David dans les Psaumes\u00a0: \u201c\u00a0Remets ton fardeau \u00e0 Dieu, et il te soutiendra.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce travail int\u00e9rieur, cette confiance profonde, am\u00e8nent Dieu \u00e0 vous aider d&#039;une mani\u00e8re que vous percevez comme bienveillante. C&#039;est comme si Dieu disait : \u201c Cette personne se repose enti\u00e8rement sur Moi. Je dois l&#039;aider. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La peur de Moshe et ses cons\u00e9quences<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Revenons maintenant \u00e0 l&#039;histoire de Mo\u00efse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Torah indique d&#039;abord que Mo\u00efse eut peur, et ce n&#039;est qu&#039;ensuite qu&#039;elle mentionne que Pharaon apprit ce qui s&#039;\u00e9tait pass\u00e9. Selon une interpr\u00e9tation simple, c&#039;est la peur m\u00eame de Mo\u00efse qui causa le probl\u00e8me. Si Mo\u00efse n&#039;avait pas eu peur, Pharaon n&#039;aurait jamais rien su, et tout se serait bien pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Autrement dit, ce n&#039;est pas le pharaon qui a provoqu\u00e9 la peur de Mo\u00efse, mais la peur de Mo\u00efse qui a incit\u00e9 le pharaon \u00e0 \u00e9couter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Explication de Rachi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachi, le principal commentateur de la Torah, ne veut pas dire que Mo\u00efse manquait de confiance en Dieu. C&#039;est pourquoi, s&#039;appuyant sur les Sages, il explique que Mo\u00efse craignait non pour lui-m\u00eame, mais parce qu&#039;il constatait la pr\u00e9sence d&#039;\u00e9l\u00e9ments mauvais au sein du peuple juif et qu&#039;il doutait qu&#039;ils soient encore pr\u00eats pour la r\u00e9demption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachi pr\u00e9f\u00e8re cette explication car il ne veut pas sous-entendre un manque de confiance envers Mo\u00efse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, selon une lecture simple et directe des versets, Mo\u00efse avait peur au sens litt\u00e9ral du terme, et cette peur a eu des cons\u00e9quences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La le\u00e7on \u00e9ternelle<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela devient une le\u00e7on \u00e9ternelle pour chacun d&#039;entre nous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La confiance, c&#039;est avoir une tranquillit\u00e9 et une certitude absolues que Dieu vous fera du bien, m\u00eame si vous ne le m\u00e9ritez pas. Mais cette confiance ne vient pas naturellement. Elle exige un travail int\u00e9rieur.
