En apparence, il s&#039;agit du r\u00e9cit d&#039;un somptueux banquet donn\u00e9 par un roi perse. Cependant, nos Sages r\u00e9v\u00e8lent ce qui se tramait en coulisses\u00a0: un affrontement direct entre deux visions du monde oppos\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Talmud (Trait\u00e9 Megillah 12b) souligne comment le festin du roi Assu\u00e9rus devint l&#039;exemple ultime de la d\u00e9ch\u00e9ance morale. Sous l&#039;effet de l&#039;ivresse, l&#039;atmosph\u00e8re passa d&#039;une c\u00e9l\u00e9bration royale \u00e0 une d\u00e9monstration de vulgarit\u00e9. En traitant la reine Vashti comme une simple pi\u00e8ce de mus\u00e9e, Assu\u00e9rus illustra l&#039;essence m\u00eame de l&#039;immoralit\u00e9\u00a0: la r\u00e9duction d&#039;un \u00eatre humain, cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#039;image de Dieu, \u00e0 un objet de plaisir personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour les idol\u00e2tres, le monde n&#039;est qu&#039;un assemblage mat\u00e9riel d&#039;outils destin\u00e9s \u00e0 la satisfaction personnelle. Il n&#039;y a ni sacralit\u00e9 dans la vie familiale, ni respect pour autrui, ni ma\u00eetrise de soi. Lorsque l&#039;ego r\u00e8gne en ma\u00eetre, le r\u00e9sultat est in\u00e9vitablement le chaos et l&#039;autodestruction. Nous le constatons clairement lorsqu&#039;Assu\u00e9rus, consum\u00e9 par la rage et un orgueil bless\u00e9, prend des d\u00e9cisions funestes guid\u00e9es par l&#039;ivresse plut\u00f4t que par la justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les Sages nous enseignent que m\u00eame les actes les plus physiques \u2013 manger et boire \u2013 peuvent devenir des actes de saintet\u00e9. La lutte contre l&#039;idol\u00e2trie implique le rejet de la culture qui ne sanctifie que le corps, les pulsions et les addictions. Les Noachides ont pour mission de maintenir un monde de justice et de droit, et cela repose sur la reconnaissance que chaque personne est cr\u00e9\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#039;image de Dieu et n&#039;est pas un instrument au service d&#039;autrui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le r\u00e9cit de la Meguila nous enseigne l&#039;\u00e9ternit\u00e9 de la foi. La foi en Dieu, b\u00e9ni soit-Il, nous permet de conserver notre dignit\u00e9 m\u00eame dans les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres du chaos et de la perversit\u00e9. La victoire n&#039;appartient ni aux plus bruyants ni aux plus puissants, mais \u00e0 ceux qui sont unis au Cr\u00e9ateur. Au milieu du chaos, les Sept Commandements des Noachides sont un \u00eelot de stabilit\u00e9. Ils nous permettent de rester moraux et connect\u00e9s \u00e0 la source de la vie.
