La tribu de L\u00e9vi, choisie pour servir Dieu, n&#039;\u00e9tait pas compt\u00e9e parmi les Isra\u00e9lites. Elle \u00e9tait charg\u00e9e de l&#039;entretien du tabernacle, de son transport lors des d\u00e9placements des Isra\u00e9lites dans le d\u00e9sert et de son installation \u00e0 chaque endroit. Son r\u00f4le consistait \u00e9galement \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger le tabernacle contre l&#039;entr\u00e9e d&#039;\u00e9trangers indignes d&#039;y p\u00e9n\u00e9trer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 la fin des Hilkhot Shemitah et Yovel, Ma\u00efmonide (chapitre 13, Halakha 13) explique comment chaque personne, et pas seulement de la tribu de L\u00e9vi, peut devenir sainte et servir Dieu comme la tribu de L\u00e9vi, si elle le choisit : \u201c \u2026et la tribu de L\u00e9vi n\u2019est pas seule, mais chacun des habitants du monde, que Son Esprit a choisis et dont Il a reconnu la connaissance d\u2019\u00eatre mis \u00e0 part pour se tenir devant le Seigneur, le servir et le conna\u00eetre ; et Il a \u00e9loign\u00e9 les pens\u00e9es des multitudes que les fils des hommes recherchaient \u2013 c\u2019est pourquoi il est devenu le tr\u00e8s saint, et le Seigneur lui donnera part et h\u00e9ritage pour toujours\u2026 \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ma\u00efmonide affirme que la saintet\u00e9 ne d\u00e9pend pas de l&#039;appartenance \u00e0 une lign\u00e9e familiale (comme celle des pr\u00eatres ou des L\u00e9vites), mais du libre choix et de la d\u00e9votion spirituelle. La g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 du c\u0153ur est ici essentielle au service de Dieu Tout-Puissant. Celui qui choisit de servir Dieu et de se d\u00e9tacher des vanit\u00e9s de ce monde atteint le plus haut degr\u00e9 de service divin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment un Noachide peut-il y parvenir\u00a0? Ma\u00efmonide \u00e9num\u00e8re plusieurs conditions. Tout commence par l\u2019engagement du c\u0153ur \u00e0 servir le Cr\u00e9ateur. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019utiliser la raison et la connaissance pour comprendre la grandeur infinie d\u2019Hashem et sa volont\u00e9 \u00e0 notre \u00e9gard. Se lib\u00e9rer du \u201c\u00a0fardeau des multiples comptes\u00a0\u201d est peut-\u00eatre le plus grand d\u00e9fi. Le monde mat\u00e9riel produit un bruit de fond constant\u00a0: la poursuite des richesses, des honneurs et des vanit\u00e9s \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8res. Il faut filtrer ce \u201c\u00a0bruit\u00a0\u201d, cesser d\u2019\u00eatre esclave des calculs li\u00e9s \u00e0 la survie mat\u00e9rielle et se lib\u00e9rer pour la t\u00e2che la plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Ce message pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 la f\u00eate du don de la Torah. Int\u00e9rioriser et appliquer ce message n\u2019est possible qu\u2019en acceptant le joug de la Torah et ses commandements donn\u00e9s au mont Sina\u00ef\u00a0: les Sept Commandements pour les enfants de No\u00e9 et les 613 Commandements pour le peuple d\u2019Isra\u00ebl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lorsqu&#039;un Noachide accepte les Sept Commandements non seulement comme une loi formelle, mais aussi par g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 d&#039;esprit et par d\u00e9sir de se pr\u00e9senter devant Dieu et de le servir, il devient semblable \u00e0 la tribu de L\u00e9vi. Ma\u00efmonide souligne que ce droit est offert \u00e0 tous. Le droit d&#039;observer les Sept Commandements rec\u00e8le un potentiel immense.
