Dans le billet pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, nous avons vu que le nom de Dieu n'appara\u00eet pas dans le r\u00f4le d'Esther, mais qu'Il est, bien s\u00fbr, Celui qui d\u00e9termine tout, ind\u00e9pendamment des souhaits et des projets des hommes. Dans ce billet, je souhaite examiner la pri\u00e8re de Mardoch\u00e9e et d'Esther. On s'attend \u00e0 ce que ces personnes, d'une grande spiritualit\u00e9, prient dans ces circonstances difficiles, pourtant, cela ne semble pas se manifester ouvertement et imm\u00e9diatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans Esther 4:1, nous lisons ce qui suit concernant la r\u00e9action de Mardoch\u00e9e au d\u00e9cret mortel d'Haman\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand Mardoch\u00e9e apprit tout ce qui s'\u00e9tait pass\u00e9, il d\u00e9chira ses v\u00eatements, se couvrit d'un sac et de cendres, puis parcourut la ville en criant \u00e0 pleins poumons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C'est une r\u00e9action logique, c'est ce que ferait n'importe qui en apprenant une telle nouvelle, mais on s'attendrait \u00e0 ce qu'il se mette \u00e0 prier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cependant, d'Exode 2:23, nous apprenons que le mot h\u00e9breu \u05d6\u05b0\u05e2\u05b8\u05e7\u05b8\u05a5\u05d4 employ\u00e9 ici d\u00e9signe la pri\u00e8re, une pri\u00e8re prononc\u00e9e dans des circonstances d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9es. Un cri, une pri\u00e8re du plus profond de l'\u00e2me adress\u00e9e \u00e0 Dieu pour obtenir son aide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien des ann\u00e9es apr\u00e8s, le roi d'\u00c9gypte mourut. Les Isra\u00e9lites, accabl\u00e9s par l'esclavage, g\u00e9mirent et cri\u00e8rent \u00e0 Dieu ; et leurs cris de d\u00e9tresse mont\u00e8rent jusqu'\u00e0 lui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En n\u00e9erlandais, il existe le proverbe \u201c \u00eatre dans le sac et la cendre \u201d. Cela signifie qu'une personne est profond\u00e9ment triste. Ni plus ni moins. Cependant, si l'on se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 Jonas 3:8, par exemple, o\u00f9 cette expression \u201c \u00eatre dans le sac et la cendre \u201d est \u00e9galement employ\u00e9e, elle signifie se repentir, se repentir devant Dieu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ils seront envelopp\u00e9s dans des sacs \u2013 humains et animaux \u2013 et crieront avec force vers Dieu. Que chacun se d\u00e9tourne de ses mauvaises voies et de l'injustice dont il s'est rendu coupable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mardoch\u00e9e, chef de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, grand proph\u00e8te, s'est couvert de sacs et de cendres\u00a0? S'est-il repenti\u00a0? Pourtant, il n'avait rien fait de mal. Il n'\u00e9tait pas all\u00e9 au palais du roi, il ne s'\u00e9tait pas prostern\u00e9 devant les idoles. Pourquoi donc s'est-il repenti\u00a0? Un chef assume ses responsabilit\u00e9s et se sent proche de son peuple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mardoch\u00e9e supplia le peuple, mais plus encore, il entra dans la ville. Il donna l'exemple, les appela \u00e0 la repentance, les exhorta \u00e0 prier Dieu dans leur d\u00e9sespoir. Lorsque le peuple tout entier implorerait Dieu de se repentir, comme l'avait fait le peuple d'\u00c9gypte, Dieu le sauverait du d\u00e9cret d'Haman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce n'est qu'apr\u00e8s que le peuple se fut repenti et eut implor\u00e9 Dieu dans la pri\u00e8re qu'il appela Esther \u00e0 aller aupr\u00e8s du roi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et puis nous lisons dans Esther 5:1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le troisi\u00e8me jour, Esther rev\u00eatit ses habits royaux et se tint dans la cour du palais royal, face \u00e0 celui-ci, tandis que le roi \u00e9tait assis sur son tr\u00f4ne royal dans la salle du tr\u00f4ne, en face de l'entr\u00e9e du palais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 premi\u00e8re vue, ce texte ne semble rien mentionner concernant la pri\u00e8re. Cependant, les Sages enseignent que lorsque le rouleau d'Esther parle du \u201c Roi \u201d, il s'agit de Dieu, et lorsqu'il parle du roi Assu\u00e9rus, il s'agit bien s\u00fbr d'Assu\u00e9rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s trois jours de pri\u00e8re et de je\u00fbne, Esther avait atteint un tel niveau spirituel qu'elle s'\u00e9tait impr\u00e9gn\u00e9e de l'Inspiration Divine. Elle se rendit \u00e0 Achaberosh avec d\u00e9termination ; cependant, \u00e0 chaque pas dans le couloir du palais, \u00e0 la vue des nombreuses idoles, cette Inspiration Divine s'affaiblissait et le sentiment de danger pour le roi grandissait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle s'\u00e9cria alors vers Dieu : \u201c Mon Dieu ! Mon Dieu ! Pourquoi m'as-tu abandonn\u00e9e ? \u201d (Psaume 22)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Car Dieu n'avait-il pas \u00e9t\u00e9 avec Sarah et Rebecca lorsqu'elles se trouvaient un jour au palais d'un roi impie ? Et elle, elle \u00e9tait avec Assu\u00e9rus depuis tant d'ann\u00e9es. O\u00f9 \u00e9tait donc HaShem ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais bient\u00f4t, il s'av\u00e9ra qu'il \u00e9tait lui aussi avec elle et qu'il la sauverait \u00e9galement du d\u00e9cret d'Haman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand une personne, au plus profond de son d\u00e9sespoir, se repent et prie Hachem, Il lui r\u00e9pondra assur\u00e9ment et la sauvera de cette situation. Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que ce salut est imm\u00e9diat. Il faudra du temps pour que le peuple soit d\u00e9livr\u00e9 d'\u00c9gypte, du temps pour qu'Haman soit pendu, pour que la situation devienne s\u00fbre pour les Juifs. Mais en fin de compte, la r\u00e9demption viendra de Lui.<\/p>
