{"id":9579,"date":"2023-05-30T17:27:48","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T16:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com\/?p=9579"},"modified":"2023-05-30T17:27:48","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T16:27:48","slug":"what-led-a-person-to-steal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com\/fr\/what-led-a-person-to-steal\/","title":{"rendered":"Numbers 5:7 &#8211; What Led a Person to Steal?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>10 Sivan 5783 \u2013 30 May 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the Torah speaks about repentance for stealing, it says: \u201cThey shall confess their sins that they did&#8230;&#8221; (Numbers 5:7).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This sentence just could have said &#8220;they shall confess their sins&#8221; &#8211; the words &#8216;that they did&#8217; seem extra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R&#8217; Yaakov Aharon of Alexander explained that these words don&#8217;t refer to the sin itself, but to what led the person to steal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a><\/a>Rarely does a person begin to literally steal out of the blue. Usually, it may start with subtle compromises of honesty or taking liberties with the property of others. These hairline infractions over time may lead to outright theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>The Rebbe of Alexander teaches, therefore, that simply confessing for the sin of stealing is not enough. The person must think about &#8220;what s\/he did&#8221; that led to eventually stealing.
