La Torah poi delinea una serie di mitzvot specifiche per il Re: gli \u00e8 proibito acquistare troppi cavalli; gli \u00e8 proibito avere troppe mogli; e gli \u00e8 proibito possedere troppo argento e oro. La Torah fornisce una ragione per le prime due Mitzvot: il divieto di avere troppi cavalli \u00e8 dovuto al fatto che l&#039;Egitto era il principale fornitore di cavalli e se il Re ne avesse acquistati troppi, la gente avrebbe dovuto tornare in Egitto, ed \u00e8 proibito tornare in Egitto. La ragione del divieto di avere troppe mogli \u00e8 che ci\u00f2 allontanerebbe il marito da Dio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuttavia, la Torah non fornisce una ragione per il divieto di possedere troppo argento e oro. Questo fu effettivamente il caso di Re Salomone, e port\u00f2 alla divisione del Regno. Ci\u00f2 avvenne quando il popolo chiese al suo successore, Recavam, di alleggerire il peso. Egli rifiut\u00f2 e, di conseguenza, il popolo si ribell\u00f2 e nomin\u00f2 un nuovo Re. Al contrario, secondo l&#039;altra opinione, secondo cui la ricchezza porter\u00e0 all&#039;arroganza, al Re \u00e8 vietato tenere per s\u00e9 il denaro conquistato, ma deve piuttosto destinarlo al Tesoro Nazionale.<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rimane la domanda: perch\u00e9 la Torah stessa ha fornito le ragioni per i divieti di avere troppe mogli e troppi soldi, ma non ha fornito una ragione per il divieto di avere troppi soldi? Rabbino Shimshon Raphael Hirsch<sup>5<\/sup>&nbsp;spiega che l&#039;amore per il denaro \u00e8 peggiore di qualsiasi altro desiderio.<sup>6<\/sup>&nbsp;Inoltre, non ci si pu\u00f2 mai accontentare del denaro e se ne vorr\u00e0 sempre di pi\u00f9, come dice lo stesso re Salomone in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Ecclesiastes.7?lang=he-en&amp;utm_source=aish.com&amp;utm_medium=sefaria_linker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ecclesiaste,<\/a><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/Ecclesiastes.7?lang=he-en&amp;utm_source=aish.com&amp;utm_medium=sefaria_linker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;\u201c&quot;Chi ama il denaro non ne sar\u00e0 mai soddisfatto&quot;.
