Dopo la sua grande vittoria sui quattro re, Dio disse ad Abramo: &quot;Non temere, Abramo... la tua ricompensa \u00e8 grandissima&quot;. Rashi, uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti commentatori, interpreta questo passo nel modo seguente: la preoccupazione di Abramo era di aver gi\u00e0 ricevuto la sua ricompensa per tutta la sua rettitudine. Per rassicurarlo, Dio lo rassicur\u00f2: &quot;Perch\u00e9 ti preoccupi di ricevere la tua ricompensa? La tua ricompensa \u00e8 grandissima&quot;.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c8 chiaro che Abramo serv\u00ec il suo Creatore completamente per amore del cielo, come un &quot;atto d&#039;amore&quot;. Maimonide definisce cosa significhi servire per amore: &quot;Ci si dedica alla Torah e ai comandamenti... non per ereditare il bene, ma per fare la verit\u00e0 perch\u00e9 \u00e8 vera&quot;. Aggiunge che questa era &quot;la virt\u00f9 del nostro padre Abramo... che serviva solo per amore&quot;. Quindi la domanda si ripropone: com&#039;\u00e8 possibile che Abramo fosse preoccupato per la sua ricompensa, al punto che Dio dovette rassicurarlo a riguardo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La risposta \u00e8 che, proprio perch\u00e9 Abramo si considerava polvere e cenere, non si vedeva come un&#039;entit\u00e0 personale, ma piuttosto come uno &quot;strumento&quot; nelle mani di Dio, il cui unico scopo era glorificare il nome di Dio nel mondo. Il suo nome e il suo onore non erano per lui qualcosa di personale o egoistico, ma piuttosto parte dell&#039;onore del Cielo. Tutta la sua aspirazione nella vita era condurre le persone a riconoscere il Creatore del mondo. Per questo motivo, la sua grandezza tra gli uomini avrebbe a sua volta magnificato l&#039;onore del Cielo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questo spiega anche la preoccupazione di Abramo per la sua ricompensa. Persino la ricompensa che gli fu data per aver servito il suo Creatore non fu vista come un guadagno personale, ma come una manifestazione del fatto che servire Dio \u00e8 una cosa buona, che porta benedizioni e onore. Voleva ricevere una ricompensa affinch\u00e9 le persone vedessero nei loro occhi che la fede in Dio \u00e8 la vera via e che Dio ricompensa coloro che credono in Lui e Lo servono. Abramo non era preoccupato per s\u00e9 stesso, ma per l&#039;onore del Cielo. Per questo motivo, Dio gli disse: &quot;Non temere... la tua ricompensa \u00e8 molto grande&quot;.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abramo visse prima del dono della Torah, quindi era un Noachide. Questo conferisce a chiunque la forza spirituale per osservare i Comandamenti Divini per amore del cielo, e infine, seguir\u00e0 anche una grande ricompensa. In effetti, il corpo fisico cerca la ricompensa per ragioni personali ed egoistiche, ma dietro a ci\u00f2 c&#039;\u00e8 il desiderio dell&#039;anima che il nome del Creatore sia santificato nel mondo.
