[Resolution #1] The Amora who reads \u05de\u05d5\u05e8\u05e9\u05d4 (<em>morasha, <\/em>\u201cinheritance\u201d) in the plain sense, categorizes this as a form of theft. [Resolution #2] The Amora who reads \u05de\u05d5\u05e8\u05e9\u05d4 as \u05de\u05d0\u05d5\u05e8\u05e1\u05d4 (<em>m\u2019orasa<\/em>, \u201ca betrothed maiden\u201d) compares this as one who rapes a betrothed maiden, which is punishable by stoning. &nbsp; [Objection #2] Rabbi Meir would say, \u201cfrom where do we know that someone who is a Gentile, and engages in Torah study is like the High Priest? The verse states (Leviticus 18:5), \u2018which a person does them and lives through them\u2019. There is no mention of priests, Levites or Israelites\u2014just \u05d4\u05d0\u05d3\u05dd, (<em>ha\u2019adam, <\/em>\u201ca person\u201d). From here you learn that even a Gentile who engages in Torah study is like the High Priest. Let him become a righteous convert and accept upon himself all of the mitzvot or remain with his Torah [the Seven Mitzvot] without adding or subtracting anything. Lechem Mishna, loc.cit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>It appears to me that the Rambam\u2019s reasoning is based on that which is written [in Tractate Sanhedrin], that such a person is not actually executed, because the question was asked [Tosefot], \u201cthere is nothing that is permitted to a Jew that is forbidden to a non-Jew\u201d, for there are the cases of a non-Jew who observes the Sabbath or who learns Torah. In such cases, it is a mitzvah for a Jew, and prohibited to a non-Jew. Tosefot stated that the aforementioned principle of \u05dc\u05d9\u05ea \u05de\u05d3\u05e2\u05dd does not apply where it is a mitzvah for Jews.
