La nostra porzione della Torah, Shemot, racconta che quando Mos\u00e8 crebbe nella casa del Faraone e usc\u00ec per vedere i suoi fratelli, vide "due uomini ebrei che litigavano", che si stavano colpendo a vicenda. La reazione di Mos\u00e8 fu: "E disse al malvagio: 'Perch\u00e9 colpisci il tuo prossimo?'". La parola "colpire", al futuro, indica che l'uomo non aveva ancora colpito il suo prossimo, eppure \u00e8 gi\u00e0 chiamato "malvagio". Infatti, la Torah (Sanhedrin 58b) apprende da questo che "chi alza la mano contro il suo prossimo, anche se non lo ha colpito, \u00e8 chiamato malvagio". Possiamo vedere l'alzare la mano come l'inizio dell'atto di colpire un altro. Questa \u00e8 la novit\u00e0 della questione: anche l'inizio dell'atto di colpire fa s\u00ec che una persona venga chiamata "malvagia".\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuttavia, l'affermazione che la persona sia definita "malvagia" non \u00e8 dovuta solo al danno e alla sofferenza causati in seguito alla persona colpita, ma alla persona stessa: una persona che alza la mano contro un altro, anche se non si \u00e8 trasformato in un vero e proprio colpo, e anche se l'altra persona non ha ancora subito alcun dolore o danno, il fatto stesso che una persona alzi la mano riflette un livello di comportamento e un tratto negativo del suo carattere, vale a dire un'inclinazione negativa, e quindi \u00e8 chiamata "malvagia".\u2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dobbiamo aggiungere una spiegazione sul perch\u00e9 alzare la mano sia specificamente proibito. Lo scopo della creazione umana \u00e8 "servire il nostro Creatore", servire l'infinito Creatore facendo s\u00ec che tutte le membra del nostro corpo servano il Signore. Questo argomento \u00e8 rilevante anche per i Noachidi. Parte delle Sette Leggi di No\u00e8 \u00e8 il divieto di colpire un'altra persona. Chi ferisce un'altra persona \u00e8 tenuto a risarcire la vittima in diversi modi, inclusi i cinque aspetti menzionati nella Torah: danni, dolore, cure mediche, perdita del lavoro e imbarazzo (Ramban, Genesi 34:13). Pertanto, i tribunali di tutto il mondo devono agire e far rispettare la legge di cui sopra per ridurre il crescente livello di violenza in tutto il mondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da questo, possiamo imparare quanto sia importante l'atto di "alzare la mano" in modo positivo: agire per il bene degli altri, pi\u00f9 che per natura e abitudine. Orientando le nostre forze verso il raggiungimento del loro scopo, viviamo una vita piena di significato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
