Ki Tisa (Esodo 30:11-34:35<\/a>\u00a0)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nella parash\u00e0 di questa settimana, troviamo un suggestivo scambio di battute tra Mos\u00e8 e Yehoshua, quando Mos\u00e8 torna dal popolo ebraico dopo i suoi quaranta giorni trascorsi sulla montagna. Mentre scende dalla montagna, Yehoshua, che aveva atteso pi\u00f9 in basso, sente i suoni provenire dall'accampamento ed esclama: "C'\u00e8 rumore di guerra nell'accampamento!"\u201c1<\/a><\/sup> Mos\u00e8 risponde: \u201cNon \u00e8 il suono della vittoria, n\u00e9 il suono della sconfitta; \u00e8 il suono dell'angoscia (fastidioso<\/em>) che sento\u201d2<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il Yerushalmi a Taanis3<\/a><\/sup> approfondisce la reazione di Mos\u00e8 alla dichiarazione di Yehoshua. Rendendosi conto che Yehoshua aveva sbagliato nel valutare le emozioni del popolo, Mos\u00e8 chiede retoricamente: "Colui che \u00e8 destinato a guidare 600.000 persone non sar\u00e0 in grado di distinguere tra un tipo di grido e un altro?". La domanda sorge spontanea: quale sia stato esattamente l'errore di Yehoshua e perch\u00e9 questa mancanza sia stata cos\u00ec significativa da giustificare un rimprovero cos\u00ec acuto?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il modo pi\u00f9 semplice per comprendere la valutazione di Yehoshua \u00e8 che egli fraintese completamente la situazione. Pensava che il popolo fosse impegnato in battaglia, quando in realt\u00e0 si stava abbandonando al peccato del Vitello d'Oro. Tuttavia, Rabbi Shimon Shwab4<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0spiega che Yehoshua si rese conto che il popolo stava peccando. Quando proclam\u00f2 che si udiva il rumore della guerra, intendeva dire che aveva capito che il popolo si era rivolto al Vitello d'Oro e, in tal senso, era come se stesse combattendo una battaglia contro Dio. Pertanto, Yehoshua consider\u00f2 il popolo con molta severit\u00e0, dato il suo comportamento abominevole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mos\u00e8 lo corresse, dicendo che quello che stavano udendo non era il suono della guerra, ma un suono di '\u2018un altro<\/em>\u2019' - cosa significa esattamente anot? Rav Shwab spiega che la parola '\u2018un altro<\/em>\u2019' \u00e8 correlato a '\u2018inui<\/em>\u2019', che significa afflizione o angoscia. \u00c8 vero, il popolo aveva peccato gravemente, ma perch\u00e9 si comportava in quel modo? Mos\u00e8 spieg\u00f2 che ci\u00f2 era dovuto a un profondo dolore e confusione. La causa immediata del Vitello d'Oro fu che pensavano che il loro amato capo fosse morto. Avevano fatto totale affidamento su di lui come tramite con Dio e temevano di essere abbandonati nel deserto. Nella loro disperazione, si rivolsero a un'altra fonte di guida, una che non sarebbe morta: il Vitello d'Oro. Quindi, il suono non fu un grido vittorioso di sfida, ma un grido di dolore di un popolo smarrito e ansioso.5<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questa comprensione porta con s\u00e9 una profonda lezione sull'importanza della prospettiva nella leadership e nel giudizio. Spesso, le persone vedono le manifestazioni esteriori del peccato e presumono il peggio di chi si allontana. Mos\u00e8 stava insegnando a Yehoshua che un leader deve guardare pi\u00f9 in profondit\u00e0. Deve comprendere le cause profonde delle azioni di una persona prima di reagire. Non ogni peccato \u00e8 un atto di sfida; a volte, \u00e8 una richiesta di aiuto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questa idea ha ripercussioni su tutti noi, anche se non siamo leader di nazioni. In particolare, genitori e insegnanti devono interiorizzare che quando un bambino si comporta male, o quando uno studente si comporta male, la prima domanda non dovrebbe essere "Come lo puniamo?", ma "Cosa sta causando le sue difficolt\u00e0 e come possiamo aiutarlo?". Insegnanti e genitori che ricorrono immediatamente a punizioni severe senza prima comprendere le difficolt\u00e0 del bambino potrebbero allontanarlo ulteriormente. Un Rebbe che vede uno studente in difficolt\u00e0 non dovrebbe assumere un atteggiamento di sfida, ma dovrebbe cercare di capire cosa lo opprime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un leader deve guardare oltre la superficie del comportamento del suo popolo, fino al cuore della questione, un insegnante deve fare lo stesso con i suoi studenti e un genitore con i suoi figli. Proprio come Mos\u00e8 insegn\u00f2 a Yehoshua, cos\u00ec anche noi dobbiamo imparare ad ascoltare non solo le grida delle malefatte, ma anche le grida delle anime che le sostengono.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
