Evocavano immagini spirituali profonde, facendo riferimento a esseri di cui la gente aveva gi\u00e0 sentito parlare: il <strong>Nephilim<\/strong>, letteralmente \u201ci caduti\u201d. Ma chi erano questi Nephilim, e perch\u00e9 la loro sola menzione avrebbe paralizzato la nazione dalla paura?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Angeli caduti o ideali decaduti?<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Secondo un potente Midrash (Aggadat Bereishit), i Nephilim non erano semplicemente uomini di grossa taglia. Un tempo erano <strong>angeli<\/strong> \u2014 esseri celesti che avevano criticato l&#039;umanit\u00e0 per la sua debolezza. Quando Dio annunci\u00f2 l&#039;imminente distruzione dell&#039;umanit\u00e0 nella generazione del Diluvio, due angeli, <strong>Uzza e Azael<\/strong>, obiettato:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cChe cos&#039;\u00e8 l&#039;uomo perch\u00e9 tu ti ricordi di lui?\u201d (Salmi 8:5)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Il loro messaggio era chiaro: perch\u00e9 investire in una creatura cos\u00ec imperfetta come l&#039;uomo?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dio rispose sfidandoli: \u201cSe viveste in mezzo a loro, anche voi cadreste\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Gli angeli accettarono la sfida. Discesero sulla Terra, fiduciosi nella loro capacit\u00e0 di resistere al peccato, ma fallirono quasi immediatamente. Intrappolati dai desideri terreni e attratti dalla bellezza delle donne, si corruppero. Secondo la tradizione, non fu loro mai pi\u00f9 permesso di tornare in Paradiso.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Questi erano i <strong>Nephilim<\/strong> \u2014 non semplicemente giganti di statura, ma <strong>giganti caduti<\/strong>, sia moralmente che spiritualmente.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Il messaggio pi\u00f9 profondo delle spie<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Perch\u00e9 le spie hanno tirato in ballo i Nephilim? Non era solo per dire: &quot;Abbiamo visto delle persone davvero enormi&quot;. Era un messaggio teologico in codice: nemmeno gli angeli potrebbero sopravvivere quaggi\u00f9. Che possibilit\u00e0 abbiamo noi?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Ai loro occhi, vivere una vita di santit\u00e0 in un mondo fisico era impossibile. Se esseri celesti \u2013 puri e liberi dalle pulsioni umane \u2013 non riuscivano a resistere alle tentazioni terrene, come ci si poteva aspettare che ci riuscissero gli esseri umani?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Ma questo fu il loro tragico errore.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Caleb e Joshua: la fede nel potenziale umano<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Caleb e Joshua non erano d&#039;accordo:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cSe Dio ci vuole, ci condurr\u00e0 in questa terra e ce la dar\u00e0.\u201d (Numeri 14:8)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Hanno capito qualcosa di fondamentale: <strong>Dio ha creato il mondo fisico appositamente per noi<\/strong>. Le anime umane non sono inferiori agli angeli. Anzi, come insegna il Tanya (cap. 2), le nostre anime sono &quot;letteralmente parte di Dio lass\u00f9&quot;. Siamo stati creati per questo mondo, con la forza di elevarlo.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Mentre gli angeli si ritraggono di fronte alle lotte terrene, l&#039;anima umana <strong>trasforma la lotta in santit\u00e0<\/strong>. Questa \u00e8 la nostra missione.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Cosa significa questo per i Bnei Noach<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Per i Bnei Noach, ovvero i non ebrei che cercano di servire Dio attraverso le 7 Leggi Universali, questo messaggio \u00e8 fondamentale.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Il vostro compito non \u00e8 imitare rituali o pratiche spirituali ebraiche destinate a un&#039;altra missione. Come le spie che si rifiutarono di entrare nella terra promessa, c&#039;\u00e8 la tentazione di pensare che la spiritualit\u00e0 esista solo in espressioni religiose &quot;superiori&quot;, abbandonando il mondo fisico alla ricerca di qualcosa di apparentemente pi\u00f9 sacro.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Ma la santit\u00e0 si trova <strong>proprio qui<\/strong>: nelle vostre relazioni, nel vostro lavoro, nella cura degli animali, della giustizia e della natura. La chiamata dei Bnei Noach \u00e8 quella di santificare il quotidiano, di rendere il <strong>il mondo fisico \u00e8 una dimora per Dio<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Conclusione: Non temete i giganti<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Le spie fallirono non perch\u00e9 mentirono, ma perch\u00e9 mancavano di fede in <strong>potenziale umano<\/strong>.
