NO!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>\u05d1\u05e1 \"\u05d3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDo you really believe that the Noahide laws are enough to have a relationship with G-d?\u201d<br>It\u2019s an honest and often-asked question\u2014especially by Christians who believe, based on the New Testament, that a relationship with G-d is only possible through Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But from a Torah perspective, the very idea of needing an intermediary to relate to G-d is not only unnecessary\u2014it is theologically unacceptable. The Torah insists on a direct, personal, and unmediated relationship between each human being and their Creator. Introducing a go-between\u2014no matter how revered\u2014is a violation of the most basic tenets of Jewish monotheism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As such, not only can you have a meaningful relationship with G-d without Jesus\u2014you cannot have one <em>con<\/em> him or anyone else as an intermediary. Or, better said: you can only have a true relationship with G-d <em>without<\/em> any intermediary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stands in contrast to a common Christian belief, based on verses like John 14:6:<br>\u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a Torah perspective, this statement contradicts the foundational principle that G-d is One\u2014without division or partnership\u2014and that He is directly accessible to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Relationships with G-d Before Jesus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hebrew Bible is filled with examples of individuals who had close, personal relationships with G-d long before Christianity came into existence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Abramo<\/strong> was called a friend of G-d (Isaiah 41:8).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mos\u00e8<\/strong> spoke with G-d face to face (Numbers 12:8).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>David<\/strong> was described as a man after G-d\u2019s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Others like Noah, Hannah, and Elijah walked with G-d in intimate faith.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If G-d was able and willing to connect directly with people before Jesus, why would that no longer be possible today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Does G-d Require for a Relationship?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hebrew Bible consistently teaches that a relationship with G-d is built on <strong>obedience, love, reverence, and trust<\/strong>. This is not about legalism, but about faithfulness\u2014living in accordance with G-d\u2019s moral expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are just a few examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Deuteronomy 11:13<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cTo love the Lord your G-d and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exodus 19:5<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cIf you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proverbs 3:5-6<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cTrust in the Lord with all your heart&#8230; and He will make your paths straight.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The message is consistent: those who listen to G-d and walk in His ways are welcomed and blessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Does It Mean to Have a Relationship with G-d?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A relationship is mutual. In human terms, that means communication, trust, commitment, and growth. A relationship with G-d involves much the same:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Speaking to G-d (prayer, meditation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listening to His words (study, reflection)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living according to His instructions (ethical obedience)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trusting in Him, even without full understanding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For non-Jews, this relationship is founded on the <strong>Le sette leggi noahidi<\/strong>\u2014universal moral principles given to humanity. According to the Talmud, those who faithfully follow these laws are called <strong>Chassidei Umot HaOlam<\/strong>\u2014&#8221;the pious among the nations&#8221;\u2014beloved and accepted by G-d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What About Jesus?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Judaism, Jesus is regarded as a <strong>Merda<\/strong>\u2014a theological \u201cassociate\u201d or \u201cpartner\u201d with G-d. In traditional Jewish law, belief in <strong>Merda<\/strong> \u00c8 <strong>akin to idolatry<\/strong>, especially when it involves worship or prayer directed toward a being other than G-d Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Torah states, <em>\u201cYou shall have no other gods before Me (al panai)\u201d<\/em> (Exodus 20:3), affirming G-d\u2019s absolute oneness. The <strong>hypostatic union<\/strong> espoused by those who believe in the Trinity is therefore heretical from a Torah perspective. As it is written: <em>\u201cHe is our G-d; there is none else\u201d<\/em> (Deuteronomy 4:35).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundational Jewish principle of G-d&#8217;s oneness is expressed in <strong>Deuteronomio 6:4<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHear, O Israel, the Lord our G-d, the Lord is one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Torah law, the concept of <em>Shetuf<\/em>\u2014partnering some other divine being with G-d\u2014is akin to idolatry, as the verse states, \u201cYou shall not have any other gods <em>with Me<\/em> (<em>al panai<\/em>).\u201d The hypostatic union espoused by those who believe in the Trinity is therefore heretical from a Torah perspective. As it is written: \u201cHe is our G-d; there is none else.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introducing any partner or intermediary to G-d compromises that unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What Do Halachic Sources Say?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maimonides (Rambam) teaches that believing in an independent intermediary\u2014such as Jesus\u2014is a form of idolatry and forbidden even to non-Jews. Rabbi Moshe Isserles (Rema), relying on the Talmudic commentators known as Tosafot, holds that while belief in <em>merda<\/em> is certainly not ideal and is prohibited, it may not necessarily place a non-Jew in formal violation of the prohibition against idolatry\u2014provided it does not involve worship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, any form of worship\u2014including bowing, offering sacrifices, or praying to a <em>merda<\/em>\u2014is clearly considered idolatry, even for non-Jews. We must clarify that <em>merda<\/em> is not permitted for anyone; rather, according to the Rema, mistakenly believing in it may not automatically constitute idol worship for a non-Jew. Nevertheless, a conscientious, believing Noahide would never entertain the idea of <em>merda<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Il <strong>Chatam Sofer<\/strong> concludes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe prevailing view is that a non-Jew is liable for worshiping the Shetuf in which he believes.\u201d<br><em>(Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 156)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even mentally combining G-d with another entity during worship is prohibited according to <strong>Sefer Mitzvot Gadol (SMa\u201dG)<\/strong>, regardless of whether the other name is mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Summary of What\u2019s Permissible for Non-Jews<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th><strong>Practice<\/strong><\/th><th><strong>Permissible?<\/strong><\/th><th><strong>Note<\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Belief in a Shetuf (mentally)<\/td><td>No (But not punishable as idolatry according to Rema<\/td><td>Still from a Torah-view forbidden; possible not liable for punishment if no worship is involved (Rema)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Worship of a Shetuf (prayer, offerings, etc.)<\/td><td>No<\/td><td>Considered idolatry, even for non-Jews<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Considerazioni finali<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yes, non-Jews can absolutely have a direct and meaningful relationship with G-d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That relationship is grounded in trust, obedience, love, and respect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Hebrew Bible is clear: G-d has always sought to be known and loved directly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>C&#039;\u00e8 <strong>no barrier<\/strong> in the Hebrew Bible that prevents non-Jews from knowing, loving, and walking with G-d\u2014on <strong>His<\/strong> terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Every human being has direct access to G-d.
