La porzione settimanale della Torah di Yitro si concentra sull'evento pi\u00f9 formativo della storia umana: il dono della Torah sul Monte Sinai. Fu qui che i Sette Comandamenti di No\u00e8 \u2013 originariamente dati ad Adamo e No\u00e8 \u2013 furono riaffermati e integrati nell'eterna alleanza divina tramite Mos\u00e8. Sorprendentemente, la porzione non \u00e8 intitolata "Il dono della Torah". Prende invece il nome da un uomo: Yitro (Ietro), che deteneva il titolo di "Sacerdote di Madian". Perch\u00e9 la Torah non intitola la porzione a questo evento di trasformazione, ma a Ietro?<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Lo Zohar rivela che la Torah non poteva essere data al mondo finch\u00e9 Yitro non fosse giunto e non avesse riconosciuto l'Onnipotente. Fu solo dopo che Yitro proclam\u00f2: "Ora so che il Signore \u00e8 pi\u00f9 grande di tutti gli dei", che un'elevazione spirituale si verific\u00f2 in tutti i mondi, consentendo la connessione tra Cielo e Terra sul Monte Sinai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per comprendere il collegamento con il Primo Comandamento Noachide \u2013 la Proibizione dell'Idolatria \u2013 dobbiamo considerare il personaggio di Yitro. Non era solo un comune cercatore della verit\u00e0; i nostri Saggi spiegano che era un esperto in ogni forma di idolatria esistente. Yitro rappresentava il "culmine dell'oscurit\u00e0", l'essenza di un mondo in cui l'uomo adora forze impure e malvagie al posto dell'Infinito Creatore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Per un Noachide, il divieto dell'idolatria non consiste semplicemente nel "non inchinarsi alle statue". La sua essenza profonda \u00e8 il riconoscimento della verit\u00e0 assoluta del Creatore e l'annullamento di qualsiasi altro potere al Suo cospetto. Si tratta di una nuova consapevolezza divina. Quando l'individuo pi\u00f9 profondamente immerso nel mondo dell'idolatria abbandon\u00f2 ogni cosa per proclamare l'unit\u00e0 di Dio, ottenne la rettifica definitiva: "Il vantaggio della luce che nasce dalle tenebre".\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Prima del Sinai, la santit\u00e0 e il mondo fisico erano separati. Al Sinai, all'umanit\u00e0 fu dato il potere di prendere un mondo fisico, a volte oscuro, e trasformarlo in una "dimora" per Dio. Yitro dimostr\u00f2 che anche da un luogo idolatra, ci si pu\u00f2 elevare e diventare un veicolo di fede in un Dio unico. Yitro non nacque nella fede; esamin\u00f2 ogni altro cammino e scelse la Verit\u00e0 Divina attraverso il suo libero arbitrio. Questo \u00e8 l'obiettivo finale di ogni essere umano: riconoscere il Creatore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


La proibizione dell'idolatria \u00e8 il fondamento di tutte le Sette Leggi Noachidi. Quando un Noachide accetta la Sovranit\u00e0 del Cielo e abbandona ogni forma di idolatria, comprese le manifestazioni moderne come l'adorazione del denaro, del potere o dell'ego, sta seguendo le orme del supremo cercatore della verit\u00e0, Yitro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riconoscendo che non c'\u00e8 "nessuno oltre a Lui", prepariamo il mondo per un tempo in cui la Verit\u00e0 Divina sar\u00e0 evidente a tutti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
