\u201cRicordati del Signore, tuo Dio, perch\u00e9 \u00e8 lui che ti d\u00e0 la forza di acquistare ricchezze.\u201d (Deuteronomio 8:18)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Il successo pu\u00f2 essere spiritualmente pericoloso. Dopo anni di duro lavoro, attenta pianificazione e sagge decisioni, \u00e8 facile concludere che i nostri successi siano interamente merito nostro. Mos\u00e8 mette in guardia Israele proprio da questa tentazione: "La mia forza e la potenza della mia mano mi hanno procurato questa ricchezza". Al contrario, comanda: "Ricordatevi del Signore vostro Dio, perch\u00e9 \u00e8 lui che vi d\u00e0 la forza di procurarvi ricchezze".\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osservate cosa dice Mos\u00e8 e cosa non dice. Non afferma che Dio si limita a mettere la ricchezza nelle nostre mani. Piuttosto, ci d\u00e0 la forza per acquisirla. Il rabbino Samson Raphael Hirsch spiega che questa "forza" comprende tutto ci\u00f2 che rende possibile il successo: la nostra intelligenza, le nostre capacit\u00e0, il nostro giudizio, la nostra creativit\u00e0, la nostra perseveranza, la nostra salute fisica e mentale, e persino le opportunit\u00e0 e le circostanze che permettono ai nostri sforzi di avere successo. Nessuna di queste qualit\u00e0, in ultima analisi, ha origine in noi. Ogni capacit\u00e0 \u00e8 un dono che Dio ci ha affidato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questa verit\u00e0 ci protegge dall'orgoglio. Qualunque cosa realizziamo, non potremo mai dire onestamente: "L'ho realizzata da solo". Persino la nostra capacit\u00e0 di lavorare, pensare, creare e perseverare proviene dal Creatore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eppure, questa verit\u00e0 ci protegge anche da un altro errore: la falsa umilt\u00e0. A volte si pensa che la fede significhi pensare in piccolo o evitare obiettivi ambiziosi. Ma se Dio ci ha affidato dei doni, si aspetta che li usiamo. L'intelligenza serve a risolvere i problemi. La creativit\u00e0 serve a costruire. La forza serve a servire. La saggezza serve a giovare agli altri. Onoriamo il Donatore non seppellendo i Suoi doni, ma sviluppandoli fedelmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per i noachidi, questo \u00e8 un principio importante. Dio ha creato l'umanit\u00e0 affinch\u00e9 coltivasse il mondo, stabilisse la giustizia, costruisse famiglie e comunit\u00e0 e portasse benedizione agli altri. Queste responsabilit\u00e0 richiedono iniziativa, diligenza e coraggio. Non dovremmo mai vantarci dei nostri successi, ma nemmeno sottrarci a imprese meritevoli per paura o per una malriposta modestia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La vera umilt\u00e0 non consiste nel dire: "Non posso fare nulla". Consiste nel riconoscere che tutto ci\u00f2 che siamo in grado di realizzare ci \u00e8 stato affidato da Dio. I giusti, pertanto, lavorano diligentemente, perseguono con coraggio obiettivi validi e rendono grazie continuamente, ricordando che ogni successo inizia con Colui che dona la forza per realizzarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. In che modo ricordare che le tue capacit\u00e0 provengono da Dio pu\u00f2 proteggerti sia dall'orgoglio che dallo scoraggiamento?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Ci sono doni o talenti che non hai ancora sviluppato appieno? Come potrebbe essere una gestione responsabile e fedele di questi doni?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. In che modo il tuo lavoro, la tua professione o le tue ambizioni personali possono diventare un modo per onorare Colui che ti ha dato la capacit\u00e0 di perseguirle?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
