{"id":11082,"date":"2023-08-31T15:52:46","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T14:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com\/?p=11082"},"modified":"2023-08-31T15:52:46","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T14:52:46","slug":"deuteronomy-2847-wrong-gladness-of-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com\/ko\/deuteronomy-2847-wrong-gladness-of-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"DEUTERONOMY 28:47 &#8211; WRONG GLADNESS OF HEART"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>14 Elul &#8211; 31 August 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deuteronomy 28 contains G-d\u2019s foreboding admonition of what will happen to the people of Israel if we stray from Him and His instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verse 47 lays out the bottom line about why we may suffer these curses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecause you did not serve Hashem, your G-d, with joy and gladness of heart, when everything was abundant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seems to be setting the bar extremely high. Even if we have been serving G-d, if it isn\u2019t with joy, He will bring terrible punishments upon us. This is certainly hard to understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kotzker Rebbe spins this verse a bit differently and in a way that sounds more palatable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>\u201cBecause when you didn&#8217;t serve Hashem, your G-d, it was with joy and gladness of heart\u2026\u201d<\/p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Rabbi Michael Skobac<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a9 Copyright, all rights reserved.
