Every person whose heart impels him to generosity shall bring an offering to Hashem\u2026(Exodus 35:5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hebrew word m\u2019itchem \u2013 \u201cfrom yourselves\u201d, implies an inner, personal initiative. The impulse to give comes from within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often, people are only motivated to contribute to worthy causes when they hear that others are giving. They are moved by peer pressure or a sense of embarrassment if they don\u2019t give.
