De Talmoed leert ons daar dat we er zorg voor moeten dragen een oudere te blijven respecteren die zijn Tora-kennis is vergeten als gevolg van omstandigheden buiten zijn macht. Ook al is hij niet langer een <a><\/a>Als Thora-geleerde moet hij nog steeds gerespecteerd worden voor de Thora die hij ooit bezat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rabbi Efrem Goldberg biedt, gebaseerd op deze Talmoedische leer, nog een belangrijke les. Onze fouten en mislukkingen mogen we niet zomaar vergeten. We kunnen alleen groeien als we deze pijnlijke ervaringen in gedachten houden en de lessen die we ervan hebben geleerd gebruiken als springplank naar succes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>De wijze koning Salomo schreef dat een rechtvaardig persoon zevenmaal zal vallen en weer opstaan (Spreuken 24:16). Volgens Rav Yitzchak Hutner gaat het er niet om dat het in de aard van een rechtvaardig persoon ligt om na zijn mislukkingen weer op te staan. Salomo leert ons veeleer de weg naar rechtvaardigheid.
