In schrikkeljaren, zoals dit jaar, lezen we Metzora meestal v\u00f3\u00f3r Pesach. Is er een verband?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rabbi Eliezer Breitowitz wijst erop dat onze wijzen inderdaad leren dat de huidaandoening van Tzara&#039;as over het algemeen werd veroorzaakt door ongepaste spraak. De Tora helpt de Metzorah de kracht van spraak te begrijpen door te eisen dat elke fase van zijn aandoening afhankelijk was van de verklaring van de priester. Hij mocht het kamp pas verlaten nadat de priester zijn huid had onderzocht en hem onrein had verklaard. En hij mocht pas terugkeren naar het kamp nadat hij opnieuw door de priester was onderzocht en deze had verklaard rein te zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het Pesachfeest draait om het verhaal van onze uittocht uit Egypte, meer dan 3300 jaar geleden. De beroemde kabbalist Ari HaKadosh legde uit dat de Hebreeuwse naam van dit feest, Pesach, is samengesteld uit de woorden Peh (mond) en Sach (spreekt)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om het verhaal van de uittocht uit Egypte goed en succesvol te kunnen vertellen en overbrengen, moeten we ervoor zorgen dat onze mond vrij is van ongepaste taal. Daarom is het hoofdstuk Metzora, dat handelt over de reiniging van hen die getroffen zijn door negatieve taal, zo&#039;n passend thema om te bestuderen v\u00f3\u00f3r het Pesachfeest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rabbi Breitowitz wijst er bovendien op dat onze slavernij in Egypte geworteld was in Jozefs negatieve verhalen over het gedrag van zijn broers jegens hun vader. Dit was mede de reden waarom zij wrok tegen hem koesterden en hem uiteindelijk als slaaf aan Egypte verkochten.
