    Een niet-Jood die zich bezighoudt met de studie van de Tora kan de doodstraf krijgen; hij mag zich alleen bezighouden met Tora-studie voor zover die betrekking heeft op zijn zeven mitswot. Evenzo kan een niet-Jood die de sabbat in acht neemt de doodstraf krijgen, zelfs als hij op een andere dag van de week sabbatsrust houdt. De overkoepelende richtlijn is dat we hem niet toestaan een nieuwe religie te verzinnen of zelf geboden te cre\u00ebren. Ofwel moet hij zich bekeren en alle mitswot aanvaarden, ofwel moet hij zich bezighouden met leringen die specifiek op hem van toepassing zijn, en daar niets aan toevoegen of van aftrekken.
