Hier is zijn antwoord:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rav Preida had een leerling die een bepaald gedeelte wel 400 keer moest horen voordat hij het begreep. Op een dag gaf Rav Preida les nadat hij was opgeroepen voor een mitswa-kwestie, maar de leerling kon het niet onder de knie krijgen. Toen hem werd gevraagd wat er aan de hand was... <a><\/a>De laatste antwoordde: &quot;Vanaf het moment dat de meester werd geroepen om een mitswa te verrichten, kon ik me niet concentreren, omdat ik dacht: Misschien gaat de meester nu weg... Misschien gaat hij nu weg.&quot; Waarop Rav Preida zei: &quot;Geef me je aandacht en ik zal je opnieuw lesgeven.&quot; Zo sprak hij en gaf hem nog 400 keer les, waarna de leerling de les volledig beheerste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daarop klonk een hemelse stem tot Rav Preida: \u201cWil je liever dat er vierhonderd jaar aan je leven worden toegevoegd, of dat jij en je generatie de toekomstige wereld verdienen?\u201d Hij antwoordde: \u201cIk wil liever dat ik en mijn generatie de toekomstige wereld verdienen.\u201d Daarop sprak de Heilige, Geprezen zij Hij: \u201cGeef hem beide.\u201d (Eruvin 54b).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gezien dit alles rijst de vraag: &quot;Hoe kon Rav Preida zoveel tijd aan zo&#039;n leerling besteden? Hoe kan het dat hij geen aandacht besteedde aan zijn eigen spirituele ontwikkeling?&quot; De waarheid is echter dat de vraag aan u gericht moet zijn: waarom beschouwt u dit als opoffering, verspilling en verlies voor uzelf? Ziet u niet dat juist het tegenovergestelde het geval is?
