In de parasja Vayigash van deze week wordt verteld over Jozefs openbaring aan zijn broers nadat zij bereid waren hun leven te geven voor hun broer Benjamin. Deze daad herstelde de zonde van het verkopen van Jozef aan Egypte. Toen Jozef zich bewust werd van zijn broer Benjamin, zegt de Tora: "En hij viel zijn broer Benjamin om de hals en huilde, en Benjamin huilde om zijn hals." Waar huilden ze beiden om? De Gemara zegt dat Jozef huilde om de twee tempels die in het gebied van de stam Benjamin zouden staan en die verwoest zouden worden, en Benjamin huilde om de tabernakel van Silo, een draagbare tempel die in het gebied van Jozef zou staan en die verwoest zou worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De hals symboliseert de Tempel als verbindingspunt tussen hemel en aarde, tussen het Goddelijke en het fysieke. Net als de hals zendt de Tempel Goddelijk licht uit, van de spirituele wereld naar de fysieke wereld, en be\u00efnvloedt zo alle mensen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De analogie van de Tempel met een "nek" benadrukt zijn rol als voertuig voor het overbrengen van goddelijke levenskracht van het hoofd naar het lichaam, van de hemel naar de aarde. Het gehuil over de nek toont de gedeelde pijn van de vernietiging op het punt van verbinding dat de verspreiding van het goddelijke licht in de wereld mogelijk maakt. Dit laat zien hoe belangrijk de Tempel is. Niet alleen voor Joden, maar voor alle mensen, omdat het een plaats is waar God aanwezig is en alle schepselen in de wereld be\u00efnvloedt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit thema is ook verbonden met Noachieten; het toont het belang van de Tempel als verbindingspunt tussen de oneindige Schepper en onze beperkte wereld, niet alleen voor het volk Isra\u00ebl, maar voor de hele mensheid. De Noachieten kregen de opdracht hun zeven geboden na te leven en werden bovendien be\u00efnvloed door het goddelijke licht dat uit de Heilige Tempel voortkwam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In het tijdperk van de verlossing zal echter de Derde Tempel in Jeruzalem gebouwd worden en voor eeuwig bestaan. Deze Tempel zal in alle opzichten groter zijn dan de twee Tempels die eraan voorafgingen. Daarom zal de mate van goddelijke overvloed zich zowel in de materi\u00eble wereld als in de spiritualiteit manifesteren door nieuwe openbaringen van de kennis van God, die dan voor de hele mensheid beschikbaar zullen zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
