De Torah beschrijft hoe de Isra\u00eblieten, op hun reis, het doelwit waren van de Amorieten die in een hinderlaag in kloven lagen. Toch orkestreerde G-d een opmerkelijke redding: de bergen kwamen op miraculeuze wijze samen, waardoor de verborgen vijand ertussen werd ingesloten en uitgeschakeld. De Isra\u00eblieten begrepen de volledige omvang van dit natuurlijk lijkende wonder pas toen hun begeleidende bron Mirjam de lichamen van de Amorieten onthulde. Deze gebeurtenis onderstreept G-ds actieve voorzienigheid en laat zien hoe Hij strijd levert voor Zijn volk, zelfs door middel van schijnbaar natuurlijke gebeurtenissen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit oude wonder vindt krachtige parallellen in hedendaagse gebeurtenissen en is een voorbeeld van de voortdurende Goddelijke redding. In de 12-daagse oorlog (bekend als \"Am Kalavi\" in het Hebreeuws) ervoer het volk Isra\u00ebl redding van \u00e9\u00e9n van de gevaarlijkste strategische dreigingen. Deze verbazingwekkende bevrijdingen, tegen overweldigende verwachtingen in, wijzen op een voortdurende Goddelijke voorzienigheid en wonderen die zich ontvouwen binnen het kader van de natuurlijke realiteit, net zoals de Arnon wonderen van redding. Isra\u00ebls blijvende veerkracht staat als een modern testament voor G-ds voortdurende wonderbaarlijke bescherming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Na het wonder van Arnon barstten de Isra\u00eblieten uit in een lied van diepe dankbaarheid. Dit herinnert ons eraan dat dankbaarheid aan G-d deel uitmaakt van ons spirituele leven. Een voortdurende staat van dankbaarheid drukt ons standvastige geloof in G-ds persoonlijke voorzienigheid uit, en erkent dat elke zegening en verlossing rechtstreeks van Hem komt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit thema van dankzegging heeft een universele betekenis en is intrinsiek verbonden met de Zeven Noachide Geboden. Deze 7 fundamentele waarden, gegeven aan de hele mensheid, omvatten de verplichting om te geloven in en het aanbidden van \u00e9\u00e9n G-d, en het verbod op afgoderij. Dankzegging aan G-d is een directe, levende uitdrukking van dit kerngeloof. Wanneer Noahiden G-d erkennen als de enige Schepper, Gids en Onderhouder van de wereld, worden zij er van nature toe geleid om Hem te danken voor hun bestaan, voor het goede dat Hij schenkt en voor de voortdurende reddingen in hun leven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze dankbaarheid komt voort uit het besef dat de Goddelijke levenskracht alle schepselen actief en voortdurend herschept en nieuw leven inblaast, omdat haar voortdurende aanwezigheid essentieel is voor hun bestaan. Als deze levenskracht ook maar voor een kort moment een geschapen wezen zou verlaten, zou dat wezen onmiddellijk tot het absolute niets terugkeren.
