Het verbod op verboden relaties is een van de zeven Noachitische wetten. De vermelding ervan in het Tora-gedeelte "Ki Tetzei" in het boek Deuteronomium (22:13-23:9) toont het opperste belang ervan aan, zowel voor het Joodse volk als voor de hele mensheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De verboden op verboden relaties, die Adam vanaf het begin van de schepping werden opgelegd, vormen een fundamentele toetssteen voor de zelfverloochening van een mens voor de wil van de Schepper. Ze vereisen dat een mens zijn menselijke verlangens en hartstochten overwint om een goddelijk gebod te vervullen. Deze verboden weerspiegelen de waarde die een mens moet erkennen: dat er een hogere orde bestaat dan zijn eigen persoonlijke verlangens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het verbod op ongeoorloofde relaties is niet alleen moreel, maar ook praktisch. Het gezin vormt de hoeksteen van elke goed geordende samenleving. Overspel en andere verboden relaties ondermijnen de stabiliteit van het gezin, beschadigen het wederzijds vertrouwen en leiden tot identiteitsverwarring bij kinderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het voortbestaan van de wereld is een andere reden voor dit verbod: zoals er staat geschreven: "dag en nacht zullen zij niet ophouden" (Genesis 8:22), is de wereld geschapen om te worden onderhouden en te blijven bestaan. Seksuele immoraliteit kan leiden tot een schending van de natuurlijke en maatschappelijke orde, en daarom zijn deze verboden essentieel voor de ordening van de wereld en haar voortbestaan. Ze garanderen dat het menselijk ras op een systematische en georganiseerde manier blijft bestaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het overtreden van de verboden op incest ondermijnt het doel van de schepping, aangezien deze daden afwijken van het plan en de orde die de Schepper van de wereld heeft ingesteld ten behoeve van al Zijn schepselen. Het naleven van deze verboden is essentieel voor het vervullen van het doel waarvoor de mensheid is geschapen. God, het ultieme goede, gaf de mens een kader waarbinnen hij het doel van zijn schepping zou vervullen en gezegend zou worden met het voorrecht om kinderen te krijgen. Dit kader is het huwelijk tussen een man en een vrouw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
