Het Hebreeuwse woord voor afgoderij is avodah zarah. Letterlijk betekent het &quot;vreemde aanbidding&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We kunnen het verbod op afgoderij allereerst lezen in<a href=\"https:\/\/mechon-mamre.org\/p\/pt\/pt0102.htm\"> Genesis 2:16:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>\u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05b0\u05e6\u05b7\u05d5\u0599 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05a3\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b4\u0594\u05d9\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc\u05be\u05d4\u05b8\u05bd\u05d0\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u0596\u05dd<\/strong> \u05dc\u05b5\u05d0\u05de\u05b9\u0591\u05e8 \u05de\u05b4\u05db\u05b9\u05bc\u05a5\u05dc \u05e2\u05b5\u05bd\u05e5\u05be\u05d4\u05b7\u05d2\u05b8\u05bc\u0596\u05df \u05d0\u05b8\u05db\u05b9\u05a5\u05dc \u05ea\u05b9\u05bc\u05d0\u05db\u05b5\u05bd\u05dc\u05c3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">16 En de HEER God gebood de man, zeggende: \u2018Van elke boom in de tuin mag je vrij eten.\u201c Chizkuni wijst erop dat in dit vers het woord \u201dE&#039;lokim\u201c gebruikt wordt in verband met Exodus 20:3: \u201dU mag geen andere goden hebben.\u2019 Het is Hashem \u2013 en niets of niemand anders naar wie wij luisteren en gehoorzamen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hashem vertelt Adam in dit vers wat Hij van Adam verwacht. Op dezelfde manier vertelt Hashem ons via Zijn Torah, via de Zeven Noachitische Wetten, wat Hij van ons verwacht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat kunnen we hiervan leren?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Soms rijst de vraag of het verkeerd is om je te verdiepen in de religies van de wereld. De redenering is: als ik weet hoe zij geloven, kan ik hen er ook beter van overtuigen dat ze het mis hebben. De tekst uit Leviticus leert ons echter hoe gevaarlijk dit is. Misschien zijn er toch elementen die je aantrekken, die je interessant vindt. Dit zou ertoe kunnen leiden dat je in de verleiding komt om verkeerde elementen of denkbeelden over te nemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Tora leert ons niet alleen hoe Hashem gediend wil worden, maar ook hoe Hashem niet gediend wil worden. Dat is echter wel belangrijk om te bestuderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kortom: je moet niet de religieuze elementen van anderen bestuderen om aan te tonen dat ze onjuist zijn, maar je moet je eigen geloof en kennis vergroten, waardoor je vanzelf vanuit de Tenach kunt aantonen dat hun denkwijze onjuist is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Als je je bijvoorbeeld concentreert op &quot;Shema Israel, A&#039;donai, A&#039;donai Echad&quot; - Hoor Isra\u00ebl, de HEER onze God is E\u00e9n. Overdenk, leer wat het betekent dat Hashem E\u00e9n is. Dan zul je geen moeite hebben om religies te corrigeren die een meervoudig godsbeeld hebben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In aansluiting op de eerste vraag volgt de tweede, veelgestelde vraag: Mag ik mijn christelijke bijbel gebruiken als studiemateriaal of om aan mijn medestudenten de passages te laten zien die fouten bevatten?. <br><br>Het is belangrijk om eerst alle andere religieuze boeken volledig af te zweren. Onderzoek en leer wat Hashem van de Tenach verwacht; gebruik geen christelijke bijbel als studiemateriaal. <br><br>Als bewijs dat de christelijke Bijbel fouten bevat, kunt u de boeken van Rabbi Tovia Singer gebruiken.\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/sukkatshalom-bneinoach.com\/nl\/books\/\">Boeken uit de serie &quot;Let&#039;s Get Biblecal&quot;.<\/a> Je hoeft zelf geen christelijke bijbel te hebben, de anderen zullen er vast wel een hebben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bovendien zijn er tegenwoordig talloze bronnen online beschikbaar, dus als iemand het nodig vindt om bronmateriaal te gebruiken, is dat prima.
