| The Tenth Principle That He, the Blessed L-rd, is aware of the actions of people and does not shield His Eyes from them. This is unlike those who say that G-d created the world and left it to operate on its own. Rather, as the verse says, “wondrous in purpose and mighty in deed, that Your Eyes perceive all the ways of people, etc.” (Jeremiah 32:19) and, “and the L-rd saw that great was the evil of man upon the earth etc.” (Genesis 6:5), and as is it is stated, “great is the outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah” For the word, “raba” (great), hints at G-d’s awareness. | היסוד העשירי כי הוא הש”י יודע מעשיהם של בני אדם ואינו מעלים עינו מהם לא כדעת מי שאמר עזב ה’ את הארץ אלא כמו שנאמר (ירמיהו ל״ב:י״ט) גדול העצה ורב העליליה אשר עיניך פקוחות על כל דרכי בני אדם וגו’ וירא ה’ כי רבה רעת האדם בארץ וגו’ (בראשית ו׳:ה׳) ונאמר זעקת סדום ועמורה כי רבה (שם יח) זהו מורה על היסוד העשירי הזה |
2. Jeremiah 32:19
| wondrous in purpose and mighty in deed, whose eyes observe all the ways of mortals, so as to repay each one according to their ways, and with the proper fruit of their deeds! | גְּדֹל֙ הָֽעֵצָ֔ה וְרַ֖ב הָעֲלִֽילִיָּ֑ה אֲשֶׁר־עֵינֶ֣יךָ פְקֻח֗וֹת עַל־כׇּל־דַּרְכֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם לָתֵ֤ת לְאִישׁ֙ כִּדְרָכָ֔יו וְכִפְרִ֖י מַעֲלָלָֽיו׃ |

| I believe with complete faith that the Creator, may His Name be blessed, knows all of the actions of mortal beings and all of their thoughts, as the verse says, “He who fashions the hearts of all beings, He knows all of their actions” (Psalm 33:15) | אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא יִתְבָּרַךְ שְׁמוֹ יוֹדֵֽעַ כָּל מַעֲשֵׂה בְנֵי אָדָם וְכָל מַחְשְׁ֒בוֹתָם שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר הַיֹּצֵר יַֽחַד לִבָּם הַמֵּבִין אֶל כָּל מַעֲשֵׂיהֶם |
6. Rashi on Psalms 33:15
| The Sages derive from this verse that He scans all beings with one glance. | ודרשו מכאן שכולן נסקרין בסקירה אחת |

| And the L-rd saw how great was human wickedness on the earth, and how all of his inner thoughts were only evil at all times. | וַיַּ֣רְא ה’ כִּ֥י רַבָּ֛ה רָעַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְכׇל־יֵ֙צֶר֙ מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ת לִבּ֔וֹ רַ֥ק רַ֖ע כׇּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ |

| Do not say: if everything is revealed to Him, how could He have created them with the ability to sin? After all, we know that the fear of Heaven is not in the Hands of Heaven, as the verses state, “and now, Israel, what does the L-rd your G-d ask of you but to fear Him?” (Deuteronomy 10:12; TB Berachot 33b), and “May they always be of such mind, to revere Me, etc.” (ibid., 5:26), amd “See, I set before you this day life and prosperity, death and adversity.” (ibid., 30:15) | כי רבה רעת האדם אין להרהר ולומר הואיל והכל גלוי לפניו איך בראו לחטוא, הרי אין יראת שמים בידי שמים כדכתיב ועתה ישראל מה ה׳ אלקיך שואל מעמך וגו׳ וכתיב מי יתן והיה לבבם זה להם וגו׳ וכתיב ראה נתתי לפניך היום את החיים ואת הטוב את המות ואת הרע |
10. TB Sanhedrin 105a
| Rabbi Yochanan says: The members of the generation of the flood sinned with “great” and were punished with “great.” They sinned with “great,” as it is stated: “And the L-rd saw that the wickedness of man was great” (Genesis 6:5). And they were punished with great, as it is stated: “All the fountains of the great deep were breached” (Genesis 7:11). | א”ר יוחנן דור המבול ברבה קלקלו וברבה נידונו ברבה קלקלו שנאמר (בראשית ו, ה) וירא ה’ כי רבה רעת האדם וברבה נידונו שנאמר (בראשית ז, יא) כל מעינות תהום רבה |
