- Text of the Modeh Ani prayer
| I am grateful before You, Living and Enduring King, that You have compassionately restored my soul within me; great is Your Faithfulness. | מוֹדֶה אֲנִי לְפָנֶֽיךָ מֶֽלֶךְ חַי וְקַיָּם שֶׁהֶחֱזַֽרְתָּ בִּי נִשְׁמָתִי בְּחֶמְלָה, רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶֽךָ: |
2. Lamentations 3:23
| The kindnesses of the L-rd have not ceased; His Mercies are not spent. They are renewed in the morning, great is Your Faithfulness. | חַֽסְדֵ֤י ד’ כִּ֣י לֹא־תָ֔מְנוּ כִּ֥י לֹא־כָל֖וּ רַחֲמָֽיו׃ חֲדָשִׁים֙ לַבְּקָרִ֔ים רַבָּ֖ה אֱמוּנָתֶֽךָ׃ |

| The are renewed in the morning: Your Kindnesses are renewed from day to day. Great is Your Faithfulness: Great is Your Promise and it is a great thing to believe that You will fulfill and keep what You have promised us. | חֲדָשִׁים לַבְּקָרִים. מִתְחַדְּשִׁים הֵם חֲסָדֶיךָ מִיּוֹם אֶל יוֹם: רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶךָ. גְּדוֹלָה הִיא הַבְטָחָתְךָ, וְדָבָר גָּדוֹל הוּא לְהַאֲמִין בְּךָ שֶׁתְּקַיֵּם וְתִשְׁמֹר מַה שֶּׁהִבְטַחְתָּ לָּנוּ: |

| The kindnesses are signified by the fact that You increase my faith in You, and that You hold our hands so that we do not fall away because of the many challenges and sufferings. Alternatively, because You renew miracles every morning, my faith grows within me. | רבה אמונתיך. החסדים הן במה שאתה מרבה אמונתך אצלי ואתה מחזיק בידינו שלא נהיה נסוגים אחור ח”ו מגודל היסורין. או יאמר שמה שאתה מתחדש נסים בכל בוקר הם מרבים האמונה בלבי: |
5. Bereshit Rabba 78:1
| Rabbi Ḥelbo said in the name of Rabbi Shmuel bar Naḥman: No heavenly group lauds and repeats, but rather, each day the Holy One blessed be He creates a new group of angels, and they recite a new song before Him, and they go on their way. | רַבִּי חֶלְבּוֹ בְּשֵׁם רַבִּי שְׁמוּאֵל בַּר נַחְמָן אָמַר לְעוֹלָם אֵין כַּת שֶׁל מַעְלָה מְקַלֶּסֶת וְשׁוֹנָה אֶלָּא בְּכָל יוֹם בּוֹרֵא הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא כַּת שֶׁל מַלְאָכִים חֲדָשָׁה וְהֵן אוֹמְרִים שִׁירָה חֲדָשָׁה לְפָנָיו וְהוֹלְכִין לָהֶם. |
6. Psalms 92:2-3
| It is good to thank the L-rd and to sing to Your Supernal Name, to speak of York Kindness in the morning, and Your Faith at night. | ט֗וֹב לְהֹד֥וֹת לַיהוָ֑ה וּלְזַמֵּ֖ר לְשִׁמְךָ֣ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ לְהַגִּ֣יד בַּבֹּ֣קֶר חַסְֽדֶּ֑ךָ וֶ֝אֱמֽוּנָתְךָ֗ בַּלֵּילֽוֹת׃ |
